My WGU update

Nursing Students Western Governors

Published

What a journey I have been on. Ups and downs... and mood swings too! The good news I only have one course left. My practicum has to have 90 hours involved and I am trying to figure out how to come up with all that time.

So exciting to be almost done. It can be done. has been great and I have a fabulous mentor. Started the program May 1, 2011.... oh yeah four months in and I anticipate to be done within the next two weeks.

Good luck to all my fellow WGU family!!!

Givin' myself a cheer....... :yeah:

I usually like to get the hard work out of the way first, so I appreciate that insight. Big question- did you enroll in the RN-MSN program at the beginning, or did you do RN-BSN and now enrolling in the MSN track? I want to do the MSN route, so am planning to just start out RN-MSN. Glad you are going to be around- keep us posted!

Congrats again! I'm seriously impressed.

Right now I'm struggling to finish my very first paper in my very first class (Arts and Humanities). Analysis of the relationship between Dada and Surrealism. Yay.

I've never had problems writing, but this one has me bamboozled. Turns out, it's hard to write about subjects you know nothing about and care nothing about.

I agree, it's hard to be motivated when you're not interested. How many "other" classes do you have to take outside of the nursing courses? I am awaiting my transcript review and afraid that I will have to do humanities and statistics/math for sure. Have been considering CLEP, but want to hear what has to say first. This admission process is taking longer than I thought it would!

I'm right there with you. Am awaiting my transcript review for awhile now. I was planning on Sept. 1 but am now worried about having to push back to October due to slow admission process! I guess this is a busy time for them...

Toronado- enrollment counselor told me last week that she thought that Sept 1 was still far enough away that there wouldn't be any problems. My problem is that the more I read of other programs, makes me wonder if I'm choosing the right one. I just want to get started SOMEWHERE!!

I start in Sept and have been reading some of the post from the websites. Must admit with all this talk of rubics and papers and trackstream I am so confused, I hope it is easy to get the hang of it. I am still very nervous.

fostermom, I understand your nervous. The rubric and papers were confusing at first but after you submit your first couple you'll be surprise how easy the rubric is to follow!

Specializes in Med/Surg Nurse, Homecare, Visiting Nurse.

Did you get through your final paper?

BettermeRN.... sigh.... I still don't have my grade back yet. I talked to my mentor and she said that weekends don't count. However, I have received papers back on weekends before. It is more exhausting waiting for your last grade. Kinda getting irriated... but trying to be patient. Hmmm... it's not working. I really home I get it back tomorrow, at least before the weekend would be nice!

Yay, got my results on my last paper!

I passed.... earned my BSN in less than 4 months!!!! I'm jumping right into the MSN!

Go get um'
