Has economic downturn effected your job possibilities?

Rumors flying again regarding facilities not being too quick to fill openings or hire new grads. True or not true?

Yes, but because of the price of gasoline here and, it is sure to go up with warmer weather, are nurses so willing to drive the distances like they used to do to work at some of the facilities.

With a starting wage of under 20/hr some of the GN's are not looking as far afield as before. One told me she had loans to start repaying, so she was going to stay at home with parents, work for 17/hr, and learn what she could in the next year.

Maybe change is in the wind this year.
