Do externships exist in WV

I'm a student at D&E (small school in west virginia) and I'm almost done with my 1st yr of nursing. I've checked with a lot of hospitals around the area and went to nursing career day hoping to have some luck with externships and found none (most have already hired)!! I was hoping someone out there could possibly help me find somewhere to work over the summer b/c i think experience is CRITICAL!! So somebody please throw me a life line!!:wink2:

I grew up in Southern WV and when I went to nursing school CAMC hired a bunch, Princeton hospital hired a few and the VA hired 2 I think (Beckley). That may have changed in the area not sure.

If you have called around to your local hospitals and none are doing it you may be out of luck unless you want a long drive.
