WSU BSN Fall 2012 - Page 8
Register Today!- Apr 26, '12 by perkiv85I also applied to the Spokane campus, and no I have not been admitted to WSU general admission yet. I'm confused about the whole transcript thing because the letters sent for interviews specifically said not to submit official transcripts to WSU yet. I went ahead and requested mine anyway because I was concerned. Anyway one of my transcripts is not there yet so thats why Im not admitted yet, although that really shouldn't affect the CON admissions. For me I think the issue is not being done with one of my pre reqs, plus I'm a transfer.
- Apr 26, '12 by Pleasant PYes, that is why I did not send in my application until I got the letter as well. Did you get financial aid awarded? That is what I was so confused about, how can I get financial aid if I am not accepted? Bizarre to say the least! But didn't you have your transcript in the CAS? LOL, so confusing! Maybe you are waitlisted, because you have not been accepted by the school yet and they wanted to meet the May 1st deadline! That is the only rational thing i can think of!
- Apr 26, '12 by Cassias78Thank you guys, I wish we would have all gotten in. Even though we don't know each other I feel like we have bonded through this process. My overall gpa is a 3.75 and my pre-req gpa is a 3.8.
- Apr 26, '12 by mrgie13I don't think transcripts are the issue because when I contacted the WSU College of Nursing admissions adviser herself and asked about transcripts she said we didn't even need to send them in until we were accepted (like after Spring Quarter, if you're at EWU, like me). I think applying to WSU is sort of a formality and like someone earlier said, doesn't have a lot to do with getting into the actual nursing program because if you're getting into the program you have the grades to be at WSU general admissions. Haven't got my letter yet though! I feel as though I'll be waitlisted though with what everyone else is saying!
- Apr 26, '12 by mrgie13Plus, if it were a do or die thing to get your transcripts there at a certain time, I feel as though they would've specified it like they did when we originally applied-I remember there being a big bold section on the application that said if we didn't get our transcripts to the CAS we wouldn't be considered, etc.
- Apr 26, '12 by TristanNicoleYeah getting accepted the WSU CON has nothing to do with being accepted to WSU, sending your transcripts to nursingCAS was all you needed for the nursing school, so WSU not receiving your transcripts doesn't affect being accepted to the CON.
- Apr 26, '12 by Pleasant PWell... I am talking about the CAS transcripts! Apparently they have to upload the CAS transcripts to your application! If that doesn't happen then how do they accept you? I think that might be what missjohnson was saying when they said they lost her transcripts... But how could they lose it if it should have been coming from the CAS? Furthermore, didn't the paper said they couldn't send you an offer if you didn't get accepted into the University?
- Apr 26, '12 by mrgie13It said when we originally applied that if you didn't get your transcripts to CAS on time, you wouldn't even be considered for an interview. So if we made it to the interview, I assume we got everything done with CAS. As for WSU, they only gave us a few weeks to submit our application and be accepted from the time we got our interview letters and I applied as soon as I could, sent my transcripts as soon as I could, and when I called WSU to ask they said that they'd been receiving tons of applications and that it'd take some time. And honestly, I highly doubt that WSU CON would deny someone they thought would be an awesome candidate because of something like that-I mean, the interview was there for a reason. If it was all GPA and get your-stuff-in-on-time then we wouldn't have one right? Plus I don't think they'd be so unfair as to penalize someone because a transcript got misplaced-in fact, when I called to ask about the delay they mentioned that their transcript scanner had broken and so that there had been a delay with transcripts this time around.
- Apr 26, '12 by TristanNicoleIdk even about nursingCAS not getting them, I was worried about nursingCAS not getting mine and I called the college and they said not to worry about it because they can look up our transcripts themselves, but if you got an interview then that wouldn't be an issue anyway.
