Where is the best teaching hospital?

Where is the best teaching hospital in Washington? Also do you know how long the orientation last? I'm looking forward to moving there someday, and I value all of the Washington nurses' opinion. Thanks for your help.

Guess I am the only one with an opinion on this subject
The University of Washington is the best.
Harborview is best for trauma, if that's your area.
In terms of orientation, I can only speak for my unit, but 4-6 weeks depending on experience I would say is the norm. It might depend on the speciality however.

Hi, I am Peck a RN from Singapore. I heard about Harborview being a great trauma centre from my surgeons. I am looking for a 2 month clinical attachment to the centre.
Can anyone please fill me with any information on whether Harborview accept clinical attachment for foreign nurses. It will be a sponsored study attachment by my hospital in Singapore.
    Thanks!

I checked with a friend who works at Harborview - he was unaware of such internships, but suggested you get in touch with the Human Resources Dept (at Harborview) to start your inquires.

Thanks so much!!! Anyway, it is yet to confirmed that I'll get the award for the attachment. How do I get in touch with the human resource dept? Anybody I can enquire from or anyone I can email to? How is it like in Harborview?!! In Seattle?!! Must be a nice place. I have not been to the States... looking forward to it!!! :hatparty:

I agree with posts above. University of WA is the best teaching hospital in WA. The nurses there are 'da bomb' and I truly feel that is a 'nurse friendly' hospital where folks can get the best experience around.
