University of Washington SoN Fall 2013

U.S.A. Washington

Anyone applying to the UW SoN for fall 2013? Anyone else FREAKING OUT about it like I am?

Wow, I was wondering myself if anyone had done that. Would have been nice to have more time to work on it, but as it was, I had finished up (and was a line or two away from the end of the page) about 5 seconds before she said pens down. I'm disappointed they didn't monitor the lone better. Would have been very easy for someone to whip out their cell phone and use the calculator function to do the math problems (though if they couldn't do it w/o a calculator, they are in trouble anyway...)

That's crap! I would of called her out! That's one less person to compete with, ever hear of integrity?!

I hear ya! I was so shocked. I mean, part of nursing is ethics, right? I said it loud enough that other people turned and looked, but I'm kind of disappointed in myself that I didn't make a bigger stink about it. Ugh. Sorry guys.

uhhh LINE, not lone. :-)

so where was everyone sitting? I was middle section, 3rd in from the right, about 4th row or so.

It's ok, not everyone is as aggressive as me ;) I just hate cheaters!

I was in the second to last row.....right in the middle!

Did you guys struggle with figuring out which patient to write about? That was tough for me.....I finally went with patient A on the advice to choose a scenario out of my comfort zone. Hope I didn't screw up.

(sorry for the duplicate post, I can't delete it). I did struggle, and went with pt. #2 because it was out of my comfort zone. Pt. #1 was not at all out of my comfort zone, hardly even considered that it might be for some. Guess I should have capitalized on that a bit. In fact, I don't think I talked enough about why I didn't choose the ones I didn't choose. Couldn't really think of many good reasons.

Well, at worst I can chalk this experience up to some good knowledge and practice if I don't get in, and have to try for admissions in the following years. It would be so nice to hear tomorrow! Ha ha! The anticipation is the worst part. I went back and re-read the thread from Fall 2012 and it seems that people heard in the beginning of April, which is nice.....hopefully that trend continues into this year as well!

I was in the middle too, no idea what row, but 6th seat from the right, bright pink sweater, long brown hair, hacking up a lung (sorry, upper respiratory infection)

Yes!! I struggled to choose too. I ended up going with patient #3 for the same reason (least familiarity). I am not satisfied with my essay but fairly confident in the math. Here's hoping!

I didn't elaborate on why I didn't choose the other 2 as well other than to state I was more familiar/had experience with them. I also worry I should have.
