Wow, that is a lot of people. I wonder if nursing will be involved.
A friend works for Mulitcare at Good Sam, and she said that they offered a nice package for those close to retiring, but otherwise, laid off houskeeping, security, kitchen help.
At Swedish so far, none of the staff nurses have been kicked to the curb but they did cut back the hours of the retail pharmacy, a couple of the cafes are closing and the cafeteria's 24hr room service for patients, staff and visitors has been reduced to 14 hours. I can't see them laying off any nurses, we are short already, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Yikes!
