There are NO jobs in Spokane, and NO good hospitals in Spokane. Spokane is a VERY nurse-unfriendly area. There is NO, and never has been, a nursing shortage here in Spokane, North Idaho, or Eastern Washington.

You may be able to find a job over in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. That is about 40 miles from dowtown Spokane. It is a right to work state, and highly antiunion, unlike Spokane, and Washington State.

Why are you moving to Spokane, clear across the country? I would make sure that I had a job, in writing, before I moved here. PM me if want more information.

Thank so much LInda..I am moving in Spokane because my sister lives there.Currently I am employed in one of the best hospitals here in triangle area.I can't complain on my career right now.I figured that it so hard to get an RN job in Spokane when I tried to search online.Thank you so much maybe I will need to stay here and just spend my vacation there If I want to see my sister.GOD bless you! What is better non union state or union.Nc is non union.

I have heard that one of the larger hospitals in Spokane is short on nurses???

In Eastern WA, there are good working conditions in the Tri-Cities (Pasco, Kennewick, or Richland, WA), but we're about a 2 hour drive from Spokane. I love my job here. Should I decide to ever relocate, a future employer would have to outshine my current one, which would be tough. However, it may be an option if you want to move closer to your sister. The only FT position listed where I work now is in the ICU, because we have a few employees that are relocating to other areas of the country. There's low turnover, nurses seem happy housewide, and we have a great union contract.
