I'm hoping one of you can help me; I'm trying to get on with the VA system. I have been a nurse for 13 years and work in UR, appeals, case management, clinical documentation improvement, etc. I had a good interview with the Puget Sound VA on Friday. The manager was very nice and was telling me how much traffic there is, how expensive housing is, etc.
My husband and I had already targeted W. Seattle for our family, due to its proximity to the VA and our knowledge that the traffic is insane. I don't want a long commute.
Does anyone know anything about the Puget Sound VA? The managers seemed cool, and I'd like to get on with the VA for the benefits long-term. I guess the traffic and expense just scare me.
What are your thoughts about W. Seattle? We could afford it, but I'm just wondering how nurses feel about living in the area.
Thanks for your help and time!
