Seattle University BSN (transfer) Fall 2013

I didn't see any thread for Seattle U BSN transfer program fall 2013. Lets see if anybody else applied other than me lol..

I just called the admissions office at SU and the transfer advisor said they're still finishing up the review of applicants. Their goal is to mail out letters early April. More waiting.........

Unless SU gives me a full boat ride for 2 years, then I probably can't afford to go there...Plus, financial aid and FAFSA are not going to loan me 20-40k for my BSN. Uhg. I've heard great things, but the price tag is kind of pushing me towards going to a CC instead.

I know what you mean. As a postbac student, I am looking at 70k for the two years. It's scary to imagine that much debt. And that's just tuition... not living expenses. Ugh.

I emailed the transfer admissions people and they said: "Decisions will be mailed late March/early-mid April."

Last years postings people started getting letters around the 26th of March.....so I figure 3 weeks for us at the earliest. Good thing I am wrapped up in end of the quarter assignments and getting ready for finals! Hopefully I will get a letter over Spring break!

Well, I hope spu doesn't take their time because I'm only taking a class April 1(spring semester) if I actually get into the school.. How inconvenient.

Fingers crossed that we get letters before April. SU is my first choice and I don't have to take this one class in April to get in. I heard we turned our applications in an entire month early this semester, so I figured we would get them at least at the same time if not earlier than last year?

lubell26, You should hear back from SPU I imagine the 15th or shortly after. They sent an email out to the SPU students that they can pick up their nursing admission status letters on Friday the 15th. So I imagine they will send out the letters to transfers at the same time. Good Luck!

Oh! I hope that is the case for SPU! it would be fantastic to know before April 1.

Is it organic chem? I'm taking it too in spring but for both UW and SPU. I'm taking college Algebra right now just for seattleU (thought I was done with math last year with statistics). It's a hard pill to swallow taking a class that's only required for one program that we not even known we've gotten into yet. Boo!

I agree! I am taking Ochem spring quarter for SPU and to complete DTA requirements, and I am signed up for math 138 for SU. I am also signed up for Eng 102 which is another DTA requirement. So I really would like to know where I am going before Spring Quarter. If I end up at SU, I will drop Eng 102 and take it summer quarter. If I end up at SPU I will drop Math 138, because I already have college calculus, it was just over 10 years ago. and if I end up at neither, I am dropping all my classes and studying for the TEAS to get into EvCC for fall. It would be great to have spring and summer off, but I'd really prefer to go to SU! Even though that means going summer quarter. At least I already know I didn't get into UW, so I don't need another VLPA credit...

Yes! it would definitely be more effective to have requirements that are streamlined!!

Seattle U requires Math 110 (or higher) as a prereq. I have college calculus, but it was more than 10 years ago, so they won't accept it. Math 138 is EvCC's equivalent.

I'm going through the same thing (if this, then that, etc). Even though I get my transfer degree when I finish this quarter, I am registered for a pre-calc class this spring, which I only need for Seattle U. It starts probably before our letters come out. Taking O-chem right now and I can't even remember at the moment what school requires it...:unsure: If I don't get into any of the BSN programs, then I would like to drop pre-calc and get my CNA during spring quarter to boost my chances with a few schools. And I am volunteering right now to increase my points for Shoreline. Already took my TEAS for EvCC (and Bellevue I think?) and did pretty good, but not as good as I should have- didn't study enough since I was in the midst of a full credit load. Got most of my vaccines, but only one or 2 schools (SPU & ?) require Hep-A so I'm wondering if I should get it now or wait. And someone require a color blind test, which I think is just silly. Almost makes me wonder if they purposely make the requirements different for every school to see how many hoops applicants are willing to jump through! I've jumped through most of them, and am getting ready to jump through more, that should be worth some bonus points, right?
