@obrien "crushed" doesn't mean go in the corner as cry. Some of us don't have the luxury of simply jumping on a new course of action when we get rejected as you seem to be able to. I'm stuck in Seattle and therefore will need to reapply. And I've never heard of anyone being able to transfer to any school without having at least 60 transferable credits in all of the four states I've lived in.. That sounds pretty generous of Seattle U. I'm sorry it didn't work out though, but it seems like you can manage.

Yeah, I'm stuck in Bellingham, WA...so Seattle would be a cornucopia of opportunity. Skagit and Whatcom county are not especially "diverse"... I'd love to be in Seattle right now. It sucks, but we just can't move because of family stuff, so I made the decision a while ago (basically right after I sent in all my applications. Uhg, because it was ******* expensive to apply everywhere.) I'm not jumping into a new course of action, I just am applying to the two community college programs up here. I've also lived in about 6 different states and general protocol is 60-90 transferable credits at the time of transfer, and approximately 30-something at the time of application. I was short one class (stats). I know UW's transfer policy is at least 40 (to the university, not the BSN program.) I've just never heard of a place "reconsidering" a decision after acceptance/rejections were sent. Either way, I wish everyone the best of luck with their education and I understand if it's hard to just let it go.

And "crushed" is a pretty dramatic word...I would use "crushed" if my dog died.

@can'ttakethewait LOL I understood what you meant, lol...I appreciate the encouraging words. No worries.

@obrien yeah that's the bummer with applying so far in advance. I was hoping there would be some universities here that accepted winter and spring transfers but you're right life goes on.

I got wait listed. My letter was dated march 26 and I just got it today the 30th. I only

Live 6 miles from the school! So there's more waiting for me! I'm pretty excited though.

They didn't give me a #, does anyone know anything about their wait list process? How many are wait listed... How many they took last year? From the seminar I went to at the school it didn't sound like too many people from the wait list got accepted in the end. Fingers crossed. Still waiting to hear from PLU.

@lubell26 You got waitlisted!! I took your comment to mean that they said no! Well, more waiting sucks, but at least there is some hope! I have no clue what the wait list process is. maybe you can contact the transfer admissions lady?

I received a rejection letter too.. So now i have to wait for another round of applications! I really wanted to go to SU for nursing school. It's such a better classroom environment for me than uw. The rejection letter was just weird. I know i had more than 36 transferrable credits. I think the reason why i wasnt accepted was because i had one nursing prereq left and that was microbio which i took during winter quarter. i think SU should have at least had us send in a mid quarter report if we had a nursing prereq during the application process to students who were taking a prereq during winter quarter. I was finishing up microbio during my winter quarter so that might be a reason why i didnt get in even with my 90+ transferrable credits.

@jazzyp8 that wouldn't have been the reason. I had two prereqs that weren't finished...Micro, i did in fall but the grades weren't in when i turned my application in. and then math 110, which I am doing spring quarter. my acceptance letter said I was conditionally accepted, based on getting those classes done by spring.

I also had two Pre-reqs not finished when I applied. Micro and math.

My acceptance letter asked for transcripts with those pending class grades once completed.

I hate to sound like a brat, but I'm having a hard time deciding between UW and SU. I really want to pick the program that will be the best for my family. Hard to know what that is.

Great attitude! You sound like a fighter. You will do well wherever you go! Best wishes!

I too was waitlisted at SU and I don't have any idea of my chances of getting in. I'd like to know how many people are on it and where I stand on the list.

Ladybug, I wouldn't use the word "brat" but I do think it is odd that given the content of most of these posts - people who are disappointed that they did not get in - you would choose to say you are stuck with the difficult decision of choosing between UW and SU. Gosh, what a terrible predicament to be in.

You're right SweetDisposition. How insensitive of me. I'm sorry. Got stuck in my own reality and My perspective narrowed. Didn't mean to upset anyone.

I called SU today to ask about why I was rejected. My GPA is not that great but I applied to due my healthcare experience hoping to get in. Advisor was really nice. She told me this year was very competitive. Most of people got rejected because they still had one or two pre-req in process. And most people who got accepted had GPA between 3.4-3.6 or above..

I was surprise she took the time to look at my application and told me to what to do for next year application cycle.

Whoever got into SU big congratulation, I think its great school.

Now I am thinking I should apply there next year :)

@ Brightbulb It is so great she took the time to talk with you! I got accepted and I am so excited to start in the fall, I think it is a great school also :) I had a 3.65 overall gpa and had 2 pre-reqs in the process--although one of them I had taken it was just too long ago to count, so I am retaking the math this quarter. I am not sure exactly what about my application they liked, but I will tell you that I had a letter of recommendation (from a doc that I have worked with for almost 10 years), even though they don't require it. And I looked at their mission statement and tried to incorporate that into my essay. Best of luck next year!
