RN jobs in the Seattle Area

U.S.A. Washington

Published

Hey everyone! I am looking for a RN job in the Seattle/Tacoma/Puyallup area. I've applied to numerous residencies (had interviews for an ER and ICU residency at Auburn Medical Center, but did not get selected for either) and other than that I've had no luck...

I have 9 months of experience working in a psychiatric facility in the Spokane and that's it.

Any recommendations on clinics/hospitals/other residencies to apply for that I might actually have a chance at?

Thank you!!

In the greater seattle area there are a LOT of hospitals to try applying at:

Specifically psych/mental health facilities - Western State (Lake Wood) and Fairfax (Kirkland)

Other hospitals in area: Harborview (Seattle), Swedish (Seattle), Virginia Mason (Seattle), UWMC (Seattle), Northwest Hospital (Seattle), Children's Hospital (Seattle), Overlake Hospital (Bellevue), Evergreen Hospital (Kirkland), Tacoma General (Tacoma), St. Clare's (Tacoma). VA Hospital (Near tacoma). SeaMar, Community Psychiatric, and Sound Mental Health outpatient clincis... these are just the one's I can think of off the top of my head. There are a lot of medical facilities in the area as several of these hospitals also have clinics attached in other locations. There are also a lot of smaller clinics and facilities that I just don't know names/locations of, or have simply forgotten to include.

Providence Health Systems, Franciscan Health Systems, Group Health Cooperative, all also operate in the greater area.

I recently saw a billboard saying that Fairfax is hiring because they just completed a large expansion of their facility, but there are a lot of options in the area. Just check out the job boards at some of these places to see if there are positions you quality for that meet what you are looking to do.

Wow, thank you! Very helpful!

St Joe's in Tacoma (part of the Franciscan network) is hiring for residency. Apply for anything 0.8 whether it is listed as a residency position or not, they often don't say.

Good luck!

Good Samaritan in Puyallup, st Francis in Federal Way, and my hospital, which is part of Franciscan...I won't list that here. Pm if interested.

Oh, valley medical. Even has psych. They do prefer a BSN because they are Magnet. There is also Harrison and highline that are new into the Franciscan family.

Op, personally I think you were lucky to be passed over by auburn, lol.

Thanks for all the names of hospitals! I'm also applying in the Seattle area... a Franciscan recruiter was talking to me, but not anymore. I don't know what happened. I wonder if I didn't "pass" the personality/logical reasoning test they have in their application process.

Have you tried making contact with them? I know their hiring process can be difficult at times. It is a good organization to work for though.

I e-mailed her about the floors/hospitals I recently applied to, and didn't hear back. Maybe because I haven't taken NCLEX, and don't have a WA license yet? Hopefully I didn't get a poor score on their exam.
