Questions for Washington RN's. Please respond.

  1. Just relocated to Bremerton, WA from Georgia. I have one year experience as a med/surg RN. Having trouble finding a job, even with agencies.. looking for something PRN while I complete my BSN degree.

-What is considered "good" pay for an experienced RN in WA? What can I expect?
-Any advice for finding a job?

All advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Western Washington has a glut of nursing schools, as does Eastern Washington. There has NEVER been a nursing shortage in Washington.

Salaries are higher in Western Washington, than Eastern Washington, and benefits are more generous.

The only thing that Washington has going for it, is that hospitals in the bigger cities are usually unionized, unlike, "right to work (for less)", Idaho.

Why did you move to Washington? Is your husband in the military? You could try the military hospitals, if you are near one. I think that Madigan has openings, but they are 40 miles south of Seattle.

    Good luck.
