Greetings,

I was just wondering if there are any PLU BSN 2013 applicants. I put name if a few hats (UW, SU + ADN/CC programs) and I am sure there are multiple applicants to the PLU programs. Just trying to get a feel from applicants. Also, if there are any current PLU BSN students or Alumni, feel free to chime in on the PLU BSN program. Thanks & all the best to everyone!

Food for thought: The road of least resistance is the road of least progress.

Hello!! Thanks for replying! You already answered one question, which would be what the schedule is like. I'm trying to see what it would be like, would I be able to handle a part time job. I'm currently active duty & trying to decide if I should get out & complete my degree (haven't been accepted yet, waiting to hear back from PLU & UW). I'm concerned about still being able to support my family. I have a 4 year old & 2 year old. I don't understand why PLUs program is 3 years vs normal 2 year programs. How many people are in your class? Any other things you had wished you had known before starting?

I really appreciate you taking the time to answer. I hope class is going well! :)

I'm actually curious if anyone might comment about the priority deadline--I'm one of those that got my application in right at the deadline (Mailed out Jan 31st, but received likely Feb 2nd); was anyone perhaps accepted despite submission after the deadline?

I know one person who turned hers in on the deadline and was accepted.

I just finished responding to you, but I'm not sure if it went through. :-)

Thank you, it def helped! I have a lot to figure out, but not a lot of time to do it. Again, thank you so much!

Thank you for your response! Perhaps there is hope. *Fingers crossed.*

@Just_keep_swimming... Well there are 40 people in our cohort (class). PLU has a 3 year program because they have more clinical hours than any other school (about 1000) and they start you off slow with only 1 nursing class. This gives you the chance to take the Gen Eds that PLU requires. PLU has a great reputation in the community and is worth the extra year. Also, PLU's program is designed to start when you are a sophmore so for anyone who starts at PLU, you actually are in a normal 4 year bachelor's program. Personally, I would complete my degree. I was in the military myself and I don't regret my decision. You can use the GIBill while you are taking classes and PLU participates in the yellow ribbon program so all of your tuition is covered. PLU also gives out HUGE scholarships so that will probably help. In the end, if you have to take a small loan, then its not the end of the world. I think I just wouldn't have brain dumped a bunch of my chemistry knowledge. You actually need some of it. Class is going great! It's worth every minute and every penny!

Just to give you some more hope... I turned mine in on the deadline as well and was accepted. Now.. it took until July to hear back from them but I was accepted :-). Be patient and hope for the best.

@sarah.b2024 Thank you so much! If anything, I'll learn to be very patient! :whistling:

Sarah how far past the deadline did you turn your application in?

Devlia,

Hi I was looking through post after post about any information on PLUs LPN-BSN and this thread is the only one I found with LPNs talking about the process and getting accepted. I myself applied to the LPN-BSN to start Feb 2015 and have a few question if you don't mind answering. Do you know how many LPNs they accept each year? and is your cohort LPNs slots all filled, ok last one you received your acceptance letter in May what was the next step after that..I'm stressing out waiting on an answer!! Thank you for your time and Congrats on getting accepted!!

Hello everyone. I just got my acceptance letter to PLU LPN -BSN program Im beyond excited. But so nervous at the same time was told will start fall sept. How are the classes? Schedule? Any experience with the program would help ease my mind. It would be nice to get to know anyone in my cohort as well.
