Greetings,

I was just wondering if there are any PLU BSN 2013 applicants. I put name if a few hats (UW, SU + ADN/CC programs) and I am sure there are multiple applicants to the PLU programs. Just trying to get a feel from applicants. Also, if there are any current PLU BSN students or Alumni, feel free to chime in on the PLU BSN program. Thanks & all the best to everyone!

Food for thought: The road of least resistance is the road of least progress.

I got the call this afternoon, but I didn't answer because I didn't know the number. I got the email about an hour after the phone call. I know it is rolling admission, so they are probably just slowly making their decisions and sending out the notifications as they decide.

I have been so stressed since I read on here the other day that someone else got accepted. So I feel the pain of those who have not heard! This is the only school I planned on applying to, so I am so relieved that I got in.

Since you asked, I have a 3.9 overall and a 4.0 in the prereqs.

With a GPA like that it wouldn't make any sense for you to not get in. At an information session, we were told that the cumulative GPA for admitted students last year was 3.75. I think AnAppleGirl is right and it is just on a rolling basis and they are getting acceptance notifications out as soon as they can.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you, Sarah!

AnAppleGirl, will you be starting in the fall?

sarah.b, I think devlia is right. You sound like you have pretty solid stats, I'm sure its only a matter of time before you get the call. But I know how nerve wrecking that is.

Does anyone know about the required religion class? I haven't heard from the school that I would be required to take it, but I have read about it from others on this forum.

The religion class is required from everyone. Period. It is classified under Christian Traditions. Transfer students don't have to take Global Religion Traditions. Luckily it looks like they have a pretty wide range of interesting classes to choose from. So unless you got your religion classes from another school and it successfully transferred over you will have to take it.

Here is the wording straight from their website:

Transfer Students and Religion GenEd Element - transfer students entering as juniors or seniors must take four semester hours from Christian Traditions (RC) unless presenting eight transfer semester hours of religion from another regionally-accredited college or university. Global Religious Traditions (RG) courses will not fulfill the General Education Program element in religion if transferring into PLU with a junior or senior standing

Here is a link to all the RC classes

Christian Traditions (RC)

Not bad for mandatory religion classes right?

And thanks guys :) I'm sure its just a matter of time. For now i will sit on pins and needles waiting for that phone call/email/letter.

I just got another email confirming my acceptance and saying that I am in the fall cohort. So ready for September!

Hi Guys!! I'm new to this thing but had my eye on this forum for while now! Is this forum for the BASIC BSN PROGRAM at PLU or the LPN to BSN? i'm just wondering cause i too applied to the LPN TO BSN and still haven't heard anything :(

I was told at one of the information sessions that if you transfer with a pre-nursing associates (direct transfer agreement), the religion requirement would be waived. I could have heard that, or be remembering it wrong, though.

I'm in your cohort, AnAppleGirl! I can hardly wait to get started. :D

Hey Fabu2012, I applied to the LPN to BSN program as well. The last communication I got, via e-mail, was in regards to sending Winter/Spring quarters unofficial transcripts, if were taking a class! :-)

devlia- Really??! Awesome! I should be finishing up my DTA over the summer and it would be REALLY nice if I didn't have to take a religions class. They never mentioned anything like like that during my info session... I think I'll shoot an email over to Sean Lacy (the transfer director) and see what he says.

Fabu- This thread is mostly for Basic BSN but we won't judge if you start chatting away about LPN stuff :)

P.S. Everyone who cares to know... No news yet.

Hey everyone!

I got a call last week from the transfer director that I got accepted, as well as 2 emails about it! AnAppleGirl and devia, I'll be in your cohort too!

I was just wondering if anyone had gotten their packet from the nursing school yet? In the email it said they were sending it out, but it's been over a week and nothing has turned up yet. If you have, what kind of info is in it?

Are any of you first years at PLU that have applied and heard back yet?
