Need a preceptor for my final semester in Central Washington...any ideas?

Hey everyone!

I'm nearing completion! In my 4th and final semester of RN school in an ADN program. At the end of this semester, starting November 5th, I will need to complete 108 hours of precepting time with a nurse of any specialty (excluding charge nurses).

My problem lies here: I live in Southern Idaho. I wish to do my precepting in Central Washington, for several reasons. First of all, my fiance is living there going to school, so it would be nice to be near her again. Also, since that is where she is going to school, that is the area where I plan to practice after graduation and completing my NCLEX. Also, I know absolutely no one besides my significant other who lives in that area.

I have called several hospitals in the area. The first (my first choice) told me they would not have the room to accommodate me. The next three I have contacted have not contacted me back. In each instance, both myself and my clinical coordinator have attempted to make contact.

Does anyone have any ideas? I would like to get this out of the way soon! Also, if there is any RN in Central Washington that would like to take on an eager student, please feel free to contact me! I am particularly interested in critical care/stepdown units. I have worked ED for the last 5 1/2 years as a CAP/tech in busy hospitals, am a currently licensed and practicing AEMT, and am ACLS certified (not that it does much good without the "RN" to go with).

I appreciate the input, ahead of time! Thanks!

A moderator on the site will probably get to this soon, but I would move this to the state of washington forum so that more nurses from the specific area will be able to read it :)
