by Joe33 Sep 18, '12Is it ethically wrong to interview at a Seattle hospital if I plan on moving out-of-state in a few months? I do want the extra interview experience. I am a 2010 grad and have been working at a hospital in the area for about a year now (and in a nursing home for over 2 years). I just feel so happy and special to be selected for an interview in this job market. I applied in May or June, when I wasn't sure if I wanted to move.

- Sep 18, '12 by ThoracicRN4uI would say yes if you interview and get the job. But your wasting the hospital and units time that needs to fill a position. If you want tips about interviewing, resumes, etc there are many resources for that. Of course it goes without saying if you were to get the job, and took it and then abandoned it within a few months that would just be distasteful. Just my 2 cents
Cheers!
- Sep 18, '12 by missnurse01I would just ask your hosp you work at now or your manager for interview practice. I am doing this for grad school. You could ask another hosp HR for some interviewing experience as well. I would not interview if I had no intention of taking the job. They may have skipped over another applicant to interview you.
good luck!
easy to search online for behavioral interview questions as that is what most hosp are using nowadays. - Sep 20, '12 by CCL RNIs tacky.
Also-Swedish is big. If they tag your file as someone who was hired and immediately quit, then you may have burned that bridge.
Don't forget Swedish is "affiliated" with Prov too. Thats a lot of hospitals to not get hired into...
This is no time to burn bridges, IMO.lindarn likes this. - Sep 20, '12 by missnurse01Oh by the way, if you want practice interviewing we would probably be able to help you with that. We do peer interviewing.
