Are WA Hospitals Hiring?

U.S.A. Washington

I know some close friends in California that cant find a RN position to save their life. Is it the same in Washington??? Seattle area?

Deaconess Medical Center in Spokane has several job openings on Career Builders. Try there.

Sacred Heart just lifted their freeze a few weeks ago, and have many RN positions posted now. You can check them out at shmc.org .

Specializes in Emergency.

Many here are hiring, you just might have to work harder to get yourself in front of the right people.

Specializes in Postpartum.

Here it depends on the unit. Right now there are a few in the ED and PACU in Bellingham, ED seems to always be looking and also the ICU...A half hour away I hear they are laying off non-nursing staff. Funny we are having a shortage and over worked ....

Specializes in Infusion.

That is good news! I am working on my pre-reqs right now, and am volunteering at St. Joe's, the new cuddler program in the Special care nursery......it really makes me want to hurry up and be a nurse! LOL!!

I hope things get better soon! It's rough for new grads. I look forward to when I'm not considered a new grad.

New grads:

Now here this!

I believe that Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, Washington, (a suburb about 20 miles north of Seattle), will be offering a new grad residency starting in January.

I do not know how many slots they will have.look them up on the internet. It is supposed to be a nice hospital to work in, and the area is nice as well. Not too far from Univerasity of Washington. Hope this helps!

Specializes in Certified Med/Surg tele, and other stuff.

Franciscan is hiring new grads. Check out St. Joe's in Tacoma. They seem to have the most listed. So is Enumclaw, a very small rural hospital that has been taken over by the Saints. They are building a new hospital and will be growing. That means more nursing jobs.:yeah:

Specializes in M/S, Travel Nursing, Pulmonary.

I'm considering moving back to WA from PA after a divorce. While I was a travel nurse in WA, I was looking to go full time there and stay. The market at the time was not bad.........but not great. I could have had a job at Tacoma General or Virginia Mason (Seattle) had I wanted, but it was in M/S. I was looking to get out of M/S, but they wanted to keep me there since I had experience with it.

Is the job market good enough that someone with experience can go into a specialty different than what they've been doing?
