- Mar 4, '05 by NurseTabI need to get my NAC (or CNA, same thing) and I am trying to decide which program to take. I've looked into South Seattle CC, Renton Tech. College, Lake Washington Technical College, and Nursing Assistant Training Institute.
Does anyone have an opinion or suggestions? I am leaning towards the NA Training Institute...it is only 3-days per week and only lasts 7-weeks. All seem like decent enough programs on paper, but I am curious about the experiences people have had in the courses. Or, what experiences you have had working with students and/or graduates of one of these programs.
Thanks in advance for any input you have!

- Mar 4, '05 by nesherFriend of mine just quit teaching at South Seattle- unorganized nursing program. I don't know about the CNA program. I have met the nursing school director of Renton Tech - that seems like an up and coming school ( in terms of the nursing program) - I think they have programs that start you as a CNA and move you along to become an RN if you are interested in such things. I am not familiar with the others you mentioned.
Guess it would also depend on your drive to and from the place - do you like your car and want to spend your day in it?

I've pretty much ruled them out, even though they are the closest.Friend of mine just quit teaching at South Seattle- unorganized nursing program. I don't know about the CNA program. I've decided on Shoreline for the RN program...so I am willing to drive at least that far! Now I just have to get in!
Thanks again! -
- Mar 6, '05 by westcoastgirlHi Tabitha - A woman I know went to Renton Tech and she felt they had a great experience with clinicals at Valley Medical.
I chose LW as it is closer to home and so far I'm happy with it although clinicals are at LTC. However I'm getting it not to work in as a NAC but as experience to put on my nursing school applications. -

T Owl- Trish is that you??? If it is I can't believe that I found you on the world wide web. Gabby - Mar 17, '05 by December716I've been thinking about doing Med-Prep (I really want to get some experience as a CNA) so it's good to know that it is a good program!
Does anyone know the job market for CNA's in the Seattle area? - Mar 17, '05 by t_owlQuote from gabbygirlAnother vote for MedPrep. They have a website that you can check out.

Yes, its me! Small world. Congratulations again to you! And my friend Eric did get accepted too.
Regarding Medprep, if is not too far it is the greatest, inexpensive and quick! I really should start collecting on my referral bonus and quit sending everyone there without my name attached! :selfbonk:
I just found this great website a couple of days ago, see what happens when they give us 2 weeks off from school! -
