Applicants to GWU's ABSN 2011

Hi! Just wanted to start another thread relating to GW's accelerated nursing program. Is anyone applying? They extended the deadline to March 1st and wondering if there weren't many applicants or they just allowed for more time? I'm sending mine in this weekend and am excited!

Thanks guys! I have been waiting impatiently so this was a nice surprise. I will message you guys with my stats, but I have tons of healthcare experience and great references so I think that might have been it.

DLRosen, I don't know what I will do. I got into Pitt too and they are ranked 7 in the country and have a huge sim center. I am not sure how to make the decision.

Question for you guys who have heard back already. Do you get a notifcation e-mail that a decision has been made or do we need to keep logging in and checking ourselves?

NYCGal-Tough decision about Pitt!! That is an excellent nursing program... I thought it was higher then 7 and around 3 or 4. Regardless though, they have an amazing program and great hospitals in that area. Good luck with your decision!

Hey all!

So I got an email yesterday morning saying my decision was on the website.

I got put on the waitlist. Has anyone else been waitlisted at GW? I was surprised to hear something like that so early! By so early I just mean that I thought Waitlist offers came out a bit later than all of the admissions offers.

Okay, good to know. That is strange that they have waitlisted people and not given answers to others. But hopefully it'll work out for you! Many people may decide to go to other schools.

That's good news! Waitlists are tough, but at least it means you're still in the running. I still haven't heard anything. zee23, when did you apply? What's your gpa/prereq gpa etc/undergrad school/major. if you don't mind sharing?

I submitted my NursingCAS on March 1st and then submitted the GW extra bits on the last day of the deadline because I totally forgot about them! OOPS! I went to American University as a Psych major. My undergrad gpa was a 3.27 and I think my prereq gpa is currently a 3.8 but I haven't finished all of my prereqs yet...I'm working on some right now.

Great to know! Thanks! I know we're are probably annoying with all of our questions!! :-) Do you remember when you got the email from GW that says that your applican is 'under review'? I heard from GW that they you're supposed to hear back 4-6 weeks after you get the 'under review' email...but it seems like they may be pacing ahead of that! I just want to hear back!

I got mine on the 7th too! I guess I should be hearing any day now!! When did you graduate American? Do you work in the health field now? I'm in the DC area now and I just love it! Did you apply to other schools in the area? Again, sorry for all the questions :-) I'm just very excited/anxious to hear back!!

Hey! Just a quick update, I heard that GWU received "over 300" applications for the 75 spots in the ABSN class!! Fingers cross that I hear GOOD NEWS very soon!
