  1. I have been researching schools that offer the LPN program for over two years now. I finally decided to go with Germanna but I have a few classes I need to take first, then that puts me until 2011 when I can go into the actual nursing program. I just really like the community college prices better then the private school prices. However, now I am reconsidering going to a community college because I would like to get into the nursing field alot faster. Besides the typical $5300 you get in financial aid what else is there to apply for at a private school to help with funding so your not walking away with a ton of debt? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Well i am a lpn graduate from mci / ecpi va beach campus..... I must admit during the program my classmates and i had a lot of complaints while in the program but when i sit back and look at the experience as a whole. I miss it. I miss the staff, the students, clinical instructors, etc.

That is so not true about their nclex pass rate. When i took boards the pass rate was 95%. Everyone in my class of 18 passed except for 2 people. I'd say thats good.

When i attended the program was 18 months and it was $25,000. It was "very" demanding as far as curriculum and clinical schedules.

I'd say that the staff do the best that they can to accomodate, but they can't please "every" student. When i first got there i got into altercations and butted heads with a lot of teachers there (im "very" outspoken) but i learned to get along with them and vice versa. At first hthey seemed to be rude and not caring enough... But what can you expect from someone who has to teach 20 grown ups with their own habits and attitudes? They are basically no non sense and when you come to class they expect you to put your opinions and attitudes aside and pay attention to what they are teaching. If i didnt answer good enough, send me a message and i'll answer any questions you have.

(i also used to work there when i was a student) *hint*

    feel free to ask ?'s

Yes, a ex co-worker went there and graduated also she's working as a LPN now. She passed the boards her first try too. She said as long as you can make a commitment to the time/schedule (don't miss no days and focus) you will do just fine.
