Salary query for LPN

U.S.A. Virginia

Published

I'm wondering if anyone knows the salary of LPN's in the Chesapeake, VA area. I'm not gonna be done for a year but will move there upon graduation.

Depending on the job but could be between 13hr-18hr... For new grads

Ouch! Far cry from the $21 they get here. I'm curious how low the cost of living is. Chesapeake, VA vs Las Vegas, NV...

As a CNA here I can get $15

Specializes in geriatrics, IV, Nurse management.

It may also depend on where you work. My area ranges 16$-30$. Its a vague range, but the average is 19 to start for a new grad. Have to remember that as you get experience, the pay grid goes up. I started at 16$, I'm making 21$ now:)

Specializes in geriatrics, IV, Nurse management.

I'm in Ontario, Canada.

Specifically, Sentara or Bon Secours pay? Possibly even the government (jails, prisons, veterans hosp)

Sentara and Bon secours goes of experience.. So it various ...believe no experience is 15.54 and With experience around 17.00 and up

I am glad to have read this. I looked at what seemed like an assembly line LPN school the other day and they were telling me brand new LPN's in the Hampton Roads area start at $18.13 but those numbers were from back in 2010 and since then the pay has gone up. I thought then and sure now they were just blowing happy smoke up my behind.

My yearly salary in 2011 I made 38,000, 2012 40,600. Ive been an LPN for 3 years.

Specializes in UM.

I make 24/hour skilled & LTC I live in Richmond va new grad
