Marymount University Fall Cohort 2012

  1. 0 I applied for the BSN Accelerated program for Fall 2012. My application is being reviewed in the second committee review. I was curious has anyone received notification of acceptance yet? I have a feeling maybe this week or early next?

I applied for the first review for the Fall 2012 ABSN. The deadline was Feb. 17th, with projected notification of March 9th. I got my letter in the mail on March 7th. The projected notification date for round #2 is April 20th. Hope you hear back soon! Good luck!

Hi Mqualk! I was curious did you receive just a letter or a packet of information too? It has been two years in the making and I am excited but nervous I get in at the same time

I originally applied for the first review deadline (Feb. 17th), but due to one of my transcripts not arriving on time, my application was considered during the second review (Mar. 23rd).The projected notification date was Apr. 20th but I received my acceptance letter yesterday, so about ten days ahead of schedule. According to a few people I've spoken with, they usually mail admissions decisions about two & a half weeks after the deadline.I received a packet of info (with a checklist, medical forms, a preliminary transfer credit evaluation, etc...) along with my acceptance letter. It came in a big envelope, with the words "You're in!" printed on the outside, leaving no doubt as to their decision.

Hi TxPatients. Just like Tabby_Cat, I received a packet filled with info. The envelope was 8 1/2 x 11 sized and had the words "You're in!" printed on the outside. After receiving the packet you have to respond to the Dean via email and return your intent to enroll with a $100 deposit. Since sending the form back I haven't heard anything else from the school with regard to schedules, orientation, etc. I am anxiously awaiting more info! I feel your pain, as it was about 2 years in the making for me too. I have been taking prerequisites without any guarantee of getting in to a school. It was definitely a relief to get my acceptance. I wish you the best of luck and maybe we'll be in school together in the Fall!!!

Hi Tabby,I haven't received anything yet so I hope it is on its way!! I live 30 minutes away driving from MU! Soooooo nervous....if I don't get in then it's only because of space. I work as a CNA in a hospital and have previous work experience in pharma. I have a Masters degree and great recs and good grades in sciences. I hope I do also we can exchange info and maybe connect before classes start! CONGRATS, and keep your fingers crossed

Yes, for 2012. I live about 15 minutes away from MU, but will probably be taking the Metro & shuttle bus from the Ballston station to commute, since the tour guide during my campus visit stressed how on-campus parking was at a premium.I'm sure you'll get in, TX, but I have total sympathy with your nerves. My application was really strong, but I was convinced I would be rejected. I had to turn down an acceptance offer from another ABSN program (in my home state of Ohio) two years ago, due to my pregnancy & was worried I had created horrible academic karma, lol.

I live in Silver Spring, MD about an hour via metro and 45 minutes by car. I will take the red line to metro center then transfer to thel ballston line too for commuting. Then I'll take the shuttle. Some days I have great feelings about getting in but day's like today when everyone is getting letters is REALLY nerve racking. But I have faith...I work in a hospital and been in school since starting this journey 2 years ago, when I quit my job in NJ and moved home to finish what I started in undergrad. I have a BA and MA in communication and worked in pharma pt education. I am now a CNA in Oncology/Cardiology PRN. I am finishing up my last course Chemistry and Nutrition, but is not needed at MU. But I really like it so definitely going to be beneficial as a nurse.I thought your post was in 2010, that's why I asked...definitely a good plan to postpone entrance till now! I also did the same thing more recently taking off a semester caring or my mom who's been waiting for a lung transplant. She is doing well but it even more solidified my nursing career. I really want to get in and get to know you more! Keep in touch and I'll definitely update you whichever way the cards go!
