JTCC Nursing Program Acceptance

U.S.A. Virginia

I applied to the John Tyler nursing program in February. I was wondering if anyone else who applied to start in the fall has recieved a letter yet? At the information session they said it could take up to six weeks and as of today it's been six weeks. As you can imagine I am anxiously waiting to know if I've been accepted . Maybe someone who is all ready in the program could tell me how long it took for them to find out.

I recieved my letter. I got in!!!!!:D

when is the cutoff date for applying to JTCC for the fall of 09?

I went to their website, but couldn't find much info. Maybe I was looking at the wrong place.

Unfortunately, the deadline for Fall 2009 has passed.

According to the school calendar, applications for the Spring 2010 session will be accepted June 1, 2009-July 1, 2009 for the Commonwealth Nursing Program and August 31, 2009-September 4, 2009 for the Traditional Program.

The link below includes information for applying as well as the contact telephone number for the Traditional Nursing Program.

Hope this helps!

I applied for the spring 2010 term. I hope I get in!!! Mrs. Harris stated that they would let students know late July early August.

I sent my application to the Spring 09 CNP in a few weeks ago (July 1 was the deadline). Haven't heard anything yet, but it has only been 2 weeks. Anyone know what the typical response time is and if they will let you know both ways (accepted vs. rejected)? I have a 4.0 gpa but am still nervous as I have a lot riding on this...and am 39 so if this doesn't work out I am back to square one :0(

hello!

just wanted to let you know that i just graduated from this program. took the nclex this week..passed in my first try.

you must be dedicated and never fall behind. i went straight through as a b student and hated it...loved it...hated it.

you need to get in a study group. that saved a lot of us....so far...about 20 of the graduates have taken nclex and passed on the first try. we are hoping for the 100% pass rate with our class!

Thanks for the heads up Tracy about not falling behind and the study group recommendation. I plan to do whatever it takes to stay afloat. Out of curiosity, of the students you started with how many actualy graduated? Also, I know nursing school can have it's ups and downs but what was your overall experience with the JTCC program?

I am also interested in applying to their program. do you know how competitive their program is? What GPA has to be? etc.

I just attended their informational session today. I had applied for the CNP through JTCC back in june. We fall under different guidelines but we all be JTCC because the CNP no longer exists. No one else is able to now apply for the CNP now, they are only honoring the students that start in the fall and the CNP applicants for spring 2010. For John Tyler it is very competitive, we had 90 people at the informational session and there is another at 5 pm (it is expected to be full). We were told that if you have a 3.2 GPA to be nervous about getting in, they rank students by GPA. For the traditional day program, they are only accepting 40 students (highest GPA get in), for the LPN/Paramedic to RN Program 20 students. For the online program 20 students which are also competing with the CNP students for slots (only for the 2010 spring, after that everyone applies for JTCC since the CNP no longer exists). The online program is also highest GPAs are accepted first. If you have a 3.5 you have a chance, but there are quite a few 4.0 students and even more 3.7 and 3.8 students that I heard talking today about their grades today. I would try to attend the next informational session. It was really helpful and its mandatory as well. The application deadline for Spring 2010 is Aug. 31-Sept. 4, for Fall 2010 its Feb.8-12. Make sure you have all your prereqs and whatever coreqs you can take ( Anatomy Physiology II, College Comp II, etc.) Like I stated, a lot of people will be applying, it sounded like it is extremely competitive.
