Thank you bcandygurl for letting me know about this cohort selection. Is it done through online job application?

I just attended a hiring event for new grads today so it really didn't fit under the cohort selection in Virginia for Inova, they are still interviewing for the rest of the week. I wont know anything for at least two weeks, so if I am hired probably won't start until next year. I did apply online for a new grad position and was contacted via email for a phone interview then after being questioned was invited to the hiring event and had a final interview at a specific time available.

Hi Drmofjeannie,

Thank you so much for leaving me your comment. I have been applying for RN positions in Inova and actually a lot of them. I was contacted once via email for a phone interview and that seemed to go well. She said she's gonna contact me if unit managers are interested in interviewing for positions. I did not receive any emails yet. How should I follow up with them? Hiring events are only done for those who are contacted after the phone interview? I am new to this and any advice would be so helpful to me. Thank you again!

I applied for 13 new grad positions since Oct 1 and saw on nurse.com a job fair in October at the Falls Church location. Went and pretty much was told the same thing as you by the recruiter. Nothing ever became of it. I kept on applying for new grad positions and applied under job title "new grad staffing solutions" on October 27th. I got a "phone screen" last week and then was invited to an "invitation only" hiring event this week and was interviewed. I was told the staffing solutions hires for all five hospitals where they see a need. So you can be offered a job in any one of them. I encourage you to keep applying and check everyday. Also, try and apply at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington for new grad positions. They will have you enter their fellowship program and be required to sign a two year contract and at the end of the fellowship you get a bonus check of like 2k.

Thank you again for your helpful advice. What is the "new grad staffing solutions" that you are talking about? Is it for Inova hospital? If so, how can search for it? I searched it in google and inova website, I did not find it. Your suggestion on VHC fellowship program sounds great! How did you apply for it? I do not find it online either. I really appreciate your help. Thanks a lot! :)

When you apply to Inova the postion/listing says RN GRAD Inova staffg solutions. There is actually an opening right now on their website. Go on the Inovacareers.org and create a username and password and upload your resume and cover letter then look for jobs. To apply at the Virginia Hospital Center go to the hospital website and look for careers link and apply for new grad positions. I basically applied and received a call back from the recruiter for a position I applied for but it was already filled so she told me she would forward my resume to the unit managers and call me back. That was 2 weeks ago. Have not heard anything since then. She told me to call back every couple weeks to check on the status of my resume.

You don't apply for the fellowship program. I just applied for a RN 1 position and the recruiter called me and said that if I were to work for them because I was a recent grad that I would be put in the fellowship program.
