Job offer at Rockingham Mem. Hosp

U.S.A. Virginia

Published

Anybody have any input on RMH/Sentara? I applied for a PRN position in their float pool, and they have basically offered me the position, but also mentioned that they have PT and FT available as well. I have a FT position at a diff. hospital on a VERY busy Med/Surg floor, think I'm ready for a change, but nervous about making the "move". I have the fear of the unknown, if ya know what I mean.

Any thoughts/input would be greatly appreciated :):)

Every hospital is different. But since you planning to do the PRN status, most still give you a few weeks of orientation to the hospital. So you can have a good idea of what occurs on the units. I think PRN is always a good idea as a way to test out a job, besides making extra cash. Without feeling like your in a ball and chain status. Take care and good luck.

Definitely agree that PRN is a great way to feel out a new location/employer. I worked FT in my regular ED and PRN at a Level 2 closer to home. If I hadn't gone into the Army, I definitely would have gone FT at the Level 2 -- they were great, and wanted me there FT. But PRN was a great way to get a feel for the organization, and to see if I'd want to be there FT.

Good luck, keep us posted!! :)
