Chamberlain college of nursing...arlington campus...

U.S.A. Virginia

I am looking into going to chamberlain at the arlington campus this fall...anyone else looking here or know much about the school? I just started looking into it and might go take a look around the school next week. I have heard mixed reviews about the school in general. Some love it some say the pass rates are low and it's a waste of money. Just trying to get a feel for what the school is really like. It's really the only nursing program close enough to me that is not a 4yr program. I LOVE the fact that they have a 3yr bachelors program which is what i had been looking for. Any advice/comments are appreciated!! Oh also any comments on the entrance exam?

Hi Nicole Lee,

Do you think the quality is in alignment with the school. I'm asking because I was with UOP, which is costly and their courses didn't compare with Nova. I'm hoping to take all my prereqs at Nova and then start at Chamberlain next fall 2012. What are your class sizes like? Do you feel like they're really concerned about you doing well or do you feel like it's all about the money for them? Also do you know what you have to do if you want to transfer to another state after you are licensed to practice nursing? Thanks in advance

I have a associates degree from Nvcc and just applied to chamberlain and the advisor said I said I should have no problem of getting in. I hope this is true. I applied to the bachelors program which is 3 years but because of all the classes I've taken it will take me 2 years. I'm really excited. You don't need preqs but if you have them it helps. I hope I get in for the October 24th classes. I was very impressed with the school and they are accredited so if you want to get a masters at George mason the degree and credits would transfer.

Thank you Sammy04. Seems like a lot of people are getting their non-nursing courses done through NVCC and then transferring to this school. An advisor from Chamberlain told me that this is actually a cheaper route. Wishing you the best:)

I just got my acceptance email for the October 24th start date. I'm so excited. Anyone else starting in October?

Ciongrulations!!!! Please keep us posted on your progress:nurse:

Thank you. I will. :-)

Congrats on getting in, how exciting! I just took my HESI yesterday and scored a 91%. I'm hoping to hear back soon!!

Hopefully you will hear back soon!! I have an appointment for Friday to sign up for classes. I'm really excited.

Did anyone transfer in anatomy and physiology? The school I took these at had separate classes, one for anatomy and one for physiology, each 4 credits. My advisor already said they would transfer, but I notice that Chamberlain has 4 A&P classes, only 2 credits each. I'll ask my advisor, but I'm hoping I don't have to take any more.

At chamberlain it's A&P 1 and 2 that's all you need. For instance I took A&P at another school it it transfered so all I need to take is A&P 2. They break each A&P class into 2 sessions that's why you see each class as 2 credits. Each semester has session A and then session B. So if you have taken A&P 1 and 2 you shouldnt have to take anymore of that class. I hope this helps.

Sammy04,

I have a meeting next week to start the process to attend the Oct 24 session. I had a bunch of reservations about this school. I looked into Stratford in Woodbridge (any thoughts on that school...anyone...anyone), but I like what I have read on this site about Chamberlain. Hopefully, I will see you Oct 24!!! congrats!!!

Thank you. I hope you decide to go with chamberlain. :)
