I graduated with a 3.9 GPA in psychology, so yes my GPA was high, but I took no traditional science courses during my degree, so I'm having to take all my science prereqs now before I start, soooo even tho my GPA was higher than yours I feel that a 3.0 is still great, and you have the advantage of a biology/health degree, have faith in yourself!! Have you completed all your other pre req's? A lot of people in my classes now are taking these classes to "boost their GPA" before they apply, if you havent taken sociology, statistics, psychology, even ethics(you won't have to take it during the program) etc, maybe you can take them to raise your GPA a little. Good luck, keep me posted

The pre reqs I took during my undergrad because they were needed for my major...I'm taking my ethics and sociology this fall. But I will have a new gpa since I already graduated...I'm not sure if when I will apply they will average that in the old undergrad gpa . I have hope of getting in. I mean I had a pretty hard major so I wasn't a stellar student I had a c here and there.but I made mistakes my freshman year college so that's what made my gpa suffer a bit.I had friends who got into med school with a 2.8 so I think there is. Hope...

I have "heard" that they combine all GPA's from schools attended when they look at your "overall" GPA, but its second hand information so I don't know, I think taking ethics and sociology this fall is a great idea, work hard and you'll get A's!!

Well either way my prereg gpa will go up and also my overall ..I looked at princton review and they listen the avg gpa for entering bsn and the avg is 3.1-3.3....overall for this school....most of the other programs have the same avg....well my gpa will be in that range or near it after my two classes I have to take...I also have a lot of volunteering and I have my phlebotomy license so that should be a boost...

Awesome! I think with experience in the field and volunteering it will really make you stand out from other applicants, I know you'll get in!

Could someone please answer my questions about Marymount's ABSN. First, is the Accelerated BSN a one year program or 15 months? Is the tuition $44,740 for the program? This seems excessive, but just wanted to be sure. Thanks

The program is 4 semesters including one summer one, the tuition is roughly $11,000 a semester so yes, around 44,000 is accurate, but there are tons of scholarships for nursing students out there to lighten the load.

For anyone starting in August, I know there was information sent out about getting uniforms, but what about clinical items (stethoscope, bandage scissors, etc, when will we find out when/where/what we have to get? Did I miss something?

JennNJ83, you will get a bag with those supplies in your fundamentals nursing course. When I was in MU it was nursing 231, but I am not sure what it is anymore. They include the cost of those items in your first semester tuition...you get a stethoscope, BP cuff, clinical bag, practice syringes etc.

hello guys. I am considering applying to Marymount for the Spring Semester. Can you please give me an idea as to how much tuition and all will cost as in-state?

Thank you so much.
