Marymount Accelerated BSN Program Fall 09

I haven't applied but I'm working on pre-reqs at NVCC as well. In the brochure it says they have to be completed before starting the program. I haven't spoke to anyone at MU, did they tell you differently?

yes, when i received my acceptance letter, they give you an outline of your prerequesite courses, which one you have and which ones you need. In the letter it states that you can accelerate if you're missing one of the classes, but scheduling can be difficult, since i wasnt able to get into microbiology this summer I have to take it in the fall at MU. Im sure the first semester will be even more difficult cause im adding an extra class but i'd rather do that than to decline my acceptance. I also spoke with one of the women who worrks in the department of health sciences and she told me the same thing.

Which chemistry did you take? I signed up for 121 this fall but don't know if I should take the 111.

Take 121 that's what I'm in it's the same as 101 but the lady at marymount said 101 may not transfer there is also paperwork in the counseling center that gives marymounts plan and what nvcc courses match I needed bio 141/142 and bio 205 and chm121

You should call them if ur unsure they really know nvcc's classes and which are eqivililent to theirs

For anyone going to Marymount Fall 2009 ABSN, have you heard anything about registration/will we do that on orientation, its only 2 days before school starts, i need to take micro fall semester too, does anyone know about registering for non nursing courses also?

Although, Chem 121 is suggested in the degree plan, I just spoke with the Dean of Nursing at Marymount (I took Chem 101 in the Spring), and if you are transferring courses from NVCC, Chem 101 transfers. As long as you take a 4 credit chem class with a lab, it fulfills the Chemistry requirement.

O ok yeah I didn't see why it mattered, my class is a split 121/101, some people are getting credit for 101,some 121 but we are all in the same class same lab same tests lol

Did anyone submit their application for the third admission cycle? Marymount is my top choice, and I am so eager to know if I was accepted.

hey all

i am applyuing to MU for next 2010...any tips....i am worried that i wont get in...i did graduate with a 3.0 in Biology/Health from CUNYbut very worried...it just seems like everyone has 4.0 ...so i dont know if they would even look at my application...i have hope...lol
