How's the program so far. I read in their website that in the RN program you have to have "B" in all nursing courses inorder to pass. I just think that's extreme. I've never heard of no such thing. Nursing school is hard enough, and I think requiring a "B" from all nursing coures is just beyound me. Even in four year university, a "B" is not required to pass ANY nursing classes. I also saw on VA board of nursing that they are NOT Accredited, which leads me to believe thtat they're trying to make themselves look good to the board so they can get accredited.

I started in Sep of this year and will graduate in March of '10.
The school is small so you get a lot of attention and the owner is a NP who teaches the "major classes" and makes sure you learn what will be on the NCLEX. The people that graduated in the 1st (and last) RN class that came to speak at orientation were able to find employment immediately, had several offers and received really good rates at the local hospitals.
The courses are no joke though...really fast paced.
I read in their website that student's are required to have a "B" in ALL nursing courses. I just think that's just rediculous. Not even a four year BSN program would ask you to have a "B" in all nursing course, cause I'm sure they already know nursing is hard alone. And also their not even accredited my VA BON only approved.

Global Health's RN program, as well as the LPN program are accredited. The RN program has provisional accreditation, along with alot of other programs under the VA Board of Nursing.

hi,
Im goin to attend ghnts in Sept 09 for the RN program, I was jus wondering what hospital you work @ and how your scholarship works. The program seems pretty expensive but I think I can afford it with some kind of help. I also don't mind committing to a hospital for a year or two, thats a guaranteed job... Also I have all my pre reqs finished except 4 med term and basic cpu skills. can i still start my nursing courses without having thoses completed, or do i have to take them first.... Thanks for your help.

Hi fatimah22. I'm going to ghnts in Sept 09 for the RN program also. I have to do a couple of pre-req's myself. What I was told the last time that I went there (I live in Maryland) is that if you like 1 or 2 pre-req's they will let you start the core classes along with the pre-req's but if you have more than 2 pre-req's to take, you will have to finish them up before you can start. You should definitely ask them about that though. I'm taking cpu and nutrition at a community college in MD and I will be taking A+P 1 & 2 and med term in Sept at ghnts. I will most likely be starting the core classes in Jan 2010.
Fyi - their med term class is an online class that you could do in the 2nd half of their summer session which I think starts on July 6th and cpu class also. Find out to be sure ok.
Hope this helps!
