hi guys, i was issued a VT license Feb 01 since i took NCLEX Jan 31, 2oo7. License expires march 31, 2009. but yesterday i received a mail from VT BON, an invitation to participate in a study. Along with the survey form is a renewal for licensure form with my name and lic.# in it. On the left top corner was written Current expiration: March 31, 2007. Will i have to renew my license this early? It has only been two months since i was first licensed. Or Board of Nsg might have mistakenly sent me one?

don't worry about it, vermont will renew it. i am on the same boat
as you are, i have received their reply and my license will expire 2009.
so, you should all be at peace knowing they will and would happily wait for
their confirmation letter.
If you go to their website, it states that they require the SSN#, as do the other states. It is up to them on a case by case basis whether or not they will renew it. They are not required to do so by law in the US.

hi! i would just like to ask.. i reccently passed the nclex last may 2008 and received the license from vt bon. it states there that the expiration date is on march 2009. im having problems because i dont have a ssn. i read your post here that they will renew it even without the ssn.. it was good news.. so i just have to fill up the renewal form, the one on their website, and leave the ssn blank, right? there is also a question there asking if you want to put your license in inactive state, do we need to put it inactive since we are not practicing there or just ignore the inactive part? a reply would be helpful. thank you in advance and God bless!

I was in the same dilemma. I passed the nclex for VT last december 2007 and my license expire by march 2009. I got in touch with the VT BON and they told me that as long as I work as a nurse anywhere in the world then they'd be renewing my license. I am holding on to that.

this is also my problem. i am still unemployed but on a training in a hospital. it is a requirement there, and after my training i have to wait if they will hire me. i dont know if i can use the training as my working experience for the renewal of my license. someone told me that u need to be currently working as a nurse anywhere for the vt bon to renew ur license. i emailed the bon but still waitin for their reply.

what i know is you are required to renew your license despite you are here in the Philippines or else you will be charge with fine. ssn is not required in vermont , that is one of the reason why i choose Vermont because I can renew my license continuously. I'm also a licensed nurse in Vermont who took the NCLEX November of 2008. They do have a fix date for expiration of license applicable to all and required to renew them not later than 30 days after the expiration date or you will pay their fine. contact Vermont and ask them directly is the best thing to do.
cheers to everyone.
