U of U Nurse Intership: Critical Care

I had a friend who did that program for a couple of months. He didn't like any of the supervisors of the program and dropped out.

I have heard great things about the program - the downsides are that it is 22 months and you have to work for some time after the internship is over

my ICU professor who works at the U of U hospital in their ER says that CRNA programs really like Utah Nurses, especially from the U of U. Also, a benefit to the critical care new grad residency at the U of U is that you get the opportunity to rotate through all of their ICU's, including their burn/trauma. The only downside is that you have to sign a 2 year contract, which may or may not be good, depending on how long you want to wait to go to CRNA school, and I'm assuming you do from your username.

The nice thing is, you need at least 1-2 years experience to get into most CRNA programs anyway, so a 2-year contract isn't really a problem in that case.

Very smart advice. I've heard that's a good way to go when applying for any ICU program/internship/position.
