Who else starts 4/8/13? Prof Nursing A/B, Technical writing

Hello allnurses!! I have registered for my classes beginni(prof nursing A/B and technical writing) now I am excited and eager to begin! Who's starting with me? Quick question..... How many prerequisite classes do/did u have to take? 5 for me including tech writing :(. Is the program truly 9,000 w/o prerequisites? How much more could an additional 5 classes be??? I look fwd to hearing from u guys (old and new classmates)

I know...and the discussion forum is a joke! You don't get any questions answered! What's the point of it then?

I asked if for week 2 we should site our references from the reading as an electronic book or as a textbook and she literally said "I can't tell you how to cite it." Um, thanks!? Luckily I wrote to my AC and she said to just site it as a textbook.

I'm still awaiting a response from her re: my discussion post. You get 25% for each criteria that is "acceptable" so I'm thinking now that she didn't completely grade mine, especially because her feedback was "timely response and good feedback!"

I already hate school and its been a month!

Have any of you ladies registered for your next class? The schedule is not working out for me. I wanted to take one of my general courses with the 2nd 5 weeks of Prof. Nursing but those classes don't align with the nursing classes. Plus the next nursing class starts 5/20 and I don't want to do a nursing class with Prof. Nursing. What are you ladies doing?

I looked under "grades" and then looked at "week 2," which was a 75/100. You can click on "rubric" right under the grade and it shows 4 criteria to be met and you get either 25% or 0%.

I regret writing such a hothead e-mail to my AC now as I realized she did not assign me a grade for the first aspect of the criteria (scholarly/professional with no grammar issues). I got neither a 25% or a 0%, so maybe I'm wondering if she just made a mistake by not completely grading me. However, if it is a 75% I'll be so angry - how could I possibly not get the remaining 25%?! I wrote a well thought-out post and 2 responses! I thought maybe it was because they want you to use citations but nobody else did and that would not be applicable for many topics. For example, this week, how would I use a citation while writing what my question is going to be for the week 3 assignment, you know?

I just checked under week 2 discussion, it says submitted but there is no grade for it at this time (puzzling???). Should I be worried if it is not graded at this moment? For you if there is nothing selected in that 25% box then it sounds like your assignment is partially graded.

I am not sure about citing on a discussion post but I did the minimum of two citing's (references) on the assignment 2 paper. I'm not sure if I did it correctly but I guess I will find out Friday.

Yea, there can't possibly be a requirement for citations on the discussions...it wouldn't make sense given the nature of what they ask us to write.

I also did the minimum of two for the paper. I followed that rubric to a "T"! In fact, I used two readings from week 2, and then got nervous that those wouldn't work out well enough and found two more peer-reviewed articles. I better get a good grade on that.

So much work - I'll take a test any day over this paper writing...

I was irritated that Sunday afternoon I found out the week 2 readings are out of date so I had to scramble to adjust my paper!

I did the same thing!! To be honest, I went to the library, searched for a relevant journal and just threw in two applicable quotes and then added those journals to the reference section. After all the time I spent on the paper, I was going to add those journals as easily as possible.

I am doubling up the whole time...in fact, at the beginning of the summer I will be tripled up for three weeks. Yikes! The only class I'm taking alone is health assessment because I hear its absolute murder as far as the time involved so I plan to take it by itself in October I think. I started my first course (of 15 needed) on 3/25 and hope to be done by next spring.

Is anyone else completely lost on this week's stuff?? I screwed up the discussion boards, I think I picked bad articles for this paper which is now causing problems for this week's work. Ugh! 6 weeks left!

I did the week 4 discussion boards last weekend and did the best I could. I plan to do my assignment today... I will let you know how it goes!

This is just so much more time consuming than I anticipated. I'm debating whether or not to take the summer & maybe the fall off.
