UTA Spring 2015

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

So I decided to change my plans from ADN to BSN and I didnt realize I am almost done in my prerequisites in UTA nursing.

I have everything done this Summer except intro to nursing and technical writing which I plan to take during Fall 2014 semester.

I will go to UTA campus for the first time and see an advisor to talk about everything I needed to know and do.

Is it possible for me to get a January spot because by December I am all finished in all nursing pre requisites? My science gpa is 3.75 but I dont know my overall yet till I see and advisor. No considerations and not patnered either.

I want to apply to the campus BSN program.

Does anyone know the name of the person that called off the wait listed students?

It's usually your adviser that calls you off the wait list!

Just got the call today around 4:30!! I got into the on campus based program!!! YAYAY!! :D:D:D

I got the call as well, congrats to all who got called off the wait list.

I got the call and was accepted into the off campus AP BSN program, I'm so happy!! :)

Hello all I applied for the fall 2015 and got wait listed. I was wondering for all that got wait listed did any of you happen to no be partnered and not have any considerations? I applied for the Apbsn program and I am really worried. Also how long did it take you to get off the waiting list?

To be considered what courses should be taken at UTA vs. Jr. College? I know mostly all, but I was thinking English 1 and 2, Literature, & Technical writing at Jr. I'm confused with how to be considered per the school wanting 12 of 16 science hours and 30 plus prereqs. hours. Any advice is great advice. TIA!

Hello do you mind sharing your stats

I was called off the wait list, I am not partnered I took 2 sciences (AP2 & Micro) & intro to nursing at UTA but most of my other credits came from community college. I had a good score on my entrance HESI and my GPA was pretty good, but I had no special considerations. I didn't get the call until right before the semester started (December 27th and orientation was Jan 12th) and I had like 2 weeks to complete the background check, immunizations, CPR class, and the tons of paperwork before orientation, but I'm so happy I ended up at UTA. So they can and will call you just before the start of classes, apparently many people are not able to pass the background check and complete the pre-orientation stuff so they give up seats at the last minute. Good luck to you!

Hello all!

I just took my HESI exam today and got an overall score of 93%. I had an overall score of 82% on the reading comprehension section, but for the subsection conclusions I got a 56%. Does anyone know if UTA uses your overall score for this category, or if you need to make above a 75% for each subsection as well. I'm so nervous and did extremely well in the other sections and have a 3.86 gpa. I just need some peace of mind that a low score on this subsection won't sink me.

i got xalled off the waiting list for the fall 2015 semester I did not have any considerations or priority and my gpa was a 4.0 in science and 3.9 overall. For my hesi exam I made a 98 in math, 85 vocab, 88 in reading and grammer! I heard they don't look at ur heai scores it's a pass yes or no option!! You will need to make a 75 and above on everything so U have to fix that 56 and also the test have to be 6 months apart

Hi,

I was reading one of your older posts (when you got accepted into the AP BSN program at UTA) and have a question. I am in the program working on pre-reqs and only have a few more. I also live in the Houston area and I am not partnered. My questions are:

1. Are you active in the program or did you start somewhere else?

2. Are you partnered? If not, how are you doing clinicals?

3. How do you like it so far if you are in the program.

Thanks,
