Waitlisted for the traidtional program in Fall 2012. Figured I should go ahead and join this one... I don't think I can handle possibly waiting all the way until August for them to tell me I didn't make it in. I am just praying they call me soon. I am meeting with my advsior a week from today and am going to have them explain to me FULLY how the whole ranking system works.

For those of you that got waitlisted for the traditional on-campus BSN program: Do you mind posting your stats? I know it will be different each application period but I was just curious. I was thinking I had a real good chance but I calculated by GPA higher than it actually was due to UTA's program not utilizing all of my prereqs that I've taken. So now my over-all GPA when I apply for Spring will be 3.5 with a 4.0 in my sciences and 94% Hesi. When I talked to my advisor, she said that the cut off over-all GPA is generally around 3.5 due to the competition of all the other applicants. So, now I'm worried because I'm right there and will definitely be applying to other schools as back-up!

I got wailisted for the Fall with 4.0/3.7 no considerations. I researched around and found out the cut-off GPA is usually 4.0/3.7, if u have considerations it can be lower... You need to have backup plan as I did!

Ok, now I'm depressed!! @thomasphan, I can't believe you got waitlisted with those stats!

@Megreen, at least you have some considerations, I have none! This whole process is so stressful, I want to be a nurse more than anything, I've been a medical assistant for 5 years and have worked below my capabilities. I finally decided to take a leap of faith and put my family through many sacrifices for me to be able to continue my education. I knew it wouldn't be an easy road to journey but I never imagined all the obstacles! All I can do is keep my faith that I will be led down the right path. :bowingpur (this is me praying, please let me get into UTA!)

I was put on the waiting list for the fall with a 4.0/3.86 and no considerations. I wish our advisors would be a little more helpful in explaining exactly how the ranking process works.

@nici0513, UTA is not the only road to become a nurse ! I think should explore other universities or colleges too. I think your stat could help you to get into an ADN program easily.

I am applying to TWU also (Baylor & TCU are too expensive), my prereq gpa is a little higher with them too (3.68) because they use more of my prereqs that I have As in. I have to stay in the DFW area too because of my family. I have looked into ADN programs but I hate to spend 2 years just to get my ADN and then another year to transition to BSN. I definitely want to get my Bachelor's and I have all the prereqs needed after this semester, but it may be my only option if I have no luck during the Spring.

I am also waitlisted for the traditional program. I have a 4.0 science and 3.82 overall with no considerations. I guess the considerations mean a lot more than the advisors make them out to be.

Ugggh! All these great scores waitlisted makes me feel so discouraged! I feel you nici! I have a 3.75 in my sciences and a 3.5 ish overall but I'm retaking some classes.

I think I am going to retake a science over the summer so I can raise my science GPA... I just really don't want to! I am hoping we find out about being wait listed before the summer chem class starts!

@MEGREEN - I was thinking of taking Chem over also but I made a high B & I don't know if I can make higher than that! Ugh!
