UTA Spring 2013

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Hello everyone! Just wanted to start this thread for anyone planning on attending UTA's nursing program in the Spring of 2013.....

I am working on the last of my pre-reqs right now at TCC, but I plan on attending UTA this fall to take Intro to Nursing, Patho, and Pharm... Anyone in the same boat???

That's so cool. Do you know anyone else that's partnered with JPS? I'm hoping to get in because I'm partnered also. I see the current Ap students walking around my floor...

@ lee1920 I haven't receive my decision e-mail either. One of my friend got her acceptance e-mail at 5:30, and the other got his rejection at 8. I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one that haven't receive anything. AND I swear I did turn in my application, I even got the confirmation e-mail.
Are you partnered? If so where?

No I am not partnered. I just applied to the traditional program. I really hope that you are right about "no news is good news". My friends were freaking me out, they told me that maybe they didn't even receive my application :(

Curious if anyone knows what the clinical schedules are like? I don't live near the DFW area so I will more than likely have a 3-4hr commute. I was accepted into the BSN-AP today and was hoping the San Antonio hospital would be on the list as it's only an hour or so away from me. Does anyone know how many days a week clinicals are or if they have weekend only rotations? I am supposed to rank the hospitals in order of preference, any insight into how I should rank the DFW hospitals? I have a 4.0/4.0 and 96% HESI took all my classes at UTA and I am not partnered. Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone who is still waiting for a response.

Congrats! On the list for 2013 partnered hospitals is HCA Methodist is San Antonio. My advisor sent me the list of spring 2013 partnered hospitals. So check that out first before you make a 3-4 hr commute.

Tram444, sorry that was the list for Fall 2013, for the San Antonio hospital. Is Beaumont and Houston close to you?

Oh thanks! Really, my list didn't include that hospital. I guess I should contact my advisor. Strange! I hope so because I have three children and the thought of having to be so far away worries me. Thank you for the response, I really appreciate it. :)

Ha! Oops! Houston and Dallas are equal distance I live just outside of Austin and before that I lived on the border, that's why I started with UTA BSN AP.

You're welcome. The Spr 2013 hospitals not in the dfw area are HCA Clear Lake in Houston and Christus St. Elizabeth in Beaumont and Good Shepherd in Longview. good luck and congrats again... great stats!!!

Sorry I was @ work so I couldn't type much but "I'm in" ... I was denied for traditional accepted into AP I have 3.75 Science no considerations partnered @ THR. I was denied twice before this Time...it wasn't my time then. But I can say being partnered helps a lot. Thainks and congrats. And to anyone who didn't get in I know how you feel and I can't make you feel better but just bc it didn't happen NOW it will. As god as my witness ..nothing happens before its time.

@ adadnanurseAre you going to accept the offer for the traditional program or are you going to wait and see if you got into the AP program?
@lharvickI'd like the AP program better as it suits my schedule but I think Im going to take the traditional offer...Who kno if they going to call me off the wait list or not. What Im unclear is which hospital will they put me in since Im unpartner?

@svh, congrats!!!!!! So happy for you!!!!
