UTA Spring 2013

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Hello everyone! Just wanted to start this thread for anyone planning on attending UTA's nursing program in the Spring of 2013.....

I am working on the last of my pre-reqs right now at TCC, but I plan on attending UTA this fall to take Intro to Nursing, Patho, and Pharm... Anyone in the same boat???

I am partnered with Parkland. 3.25 science, 3.35 general, 2 accommodations. I was denied last semester for both programs, but I've been partnered since then. Here's hoping!!

txhopeful12, I heard today from our AP BSN contact at my hospital that she is meeting with UTA on 10/10 as well. It is so frustrating because why do they even post a "decision by" date when they have never once adhered to it?!? For Fall '12 decisions they were actually way "early" in their terms because they sent emails on April 20th. I believe the website says decision by 7/1 for Fall. Anyway, it just doesn't make any sense. Every other college on the planet sends out their decisions MONTHS before UTA does and it's hard for those students who have other options to make a choice! Anyway, that is all the complaining for now :)

I dont blame you on the complaining in the slightest! I applied to Midwestern a week or two ago, I think we find out in November. I'm still contemplating applying for A&M Commerce, but their program is 6 semesters and they're only letting in 25 people.

I am partnered with Parkland too! I was put on the wait list in the Fall, I am hoping this time it's good news:) Good luck you this time around!

I totally hear you nikkib! It's ridiculous how long the wait is AND they don't even have to go through an interview process or letters of recommendation like other schools....imagine if they through that in the mix.....we would never find out. Based on how the Fall notifications went, I was expecting that we would hear something BEFORE Oct. 1st, but I guess every semester is different.:bored:

nikkiB--I'm at the arlington facility.

Who all is partnered with Cook Children's Hospital?

I'm a relatively recent hire at Parkland, so I only got to send an email to my adviser on the 25th or so. She said she updated my file, but I keep having these terrible nightmares that it didn't go through correctly and I somehow didn't get listed as a partner, and I get that dreaded DENIED letter instead of even a waitlisted. I want to call up there and confirm, but I dont want to seem like a tweaked out psycho. Any advise? :(

txhopeful12 I wouldn't worry too much about that. When I became partnered my hire date was March 27th and emails went out April 20th. I'm hoping you have her saying she's updating your file in an email :) There's no cutoff date or rule as to when you get hired, but obviously has to be before the "decision by" date on the website lol! So you're good!

Txhopeful- if it will give you peace of mind, then I don't think it hurts to ask again, just to make sure it was taken into consideration. I have followed up on so many things throughout this process to make sure all my ducks were in a row:). If you call, just explain that your probably being paranoid, but..... :) So were you partnered with a different facility when you were denied in the Fall?

No, I wasn't partnered before.

Well....it's the start of the 2nd week in Oct....if that meeting happens on Wednesday, let's hope that we hear something Friday:yes: Fingers-crossed for everyone! If anyone hears anything else, keep us all posted!
