  1. @Mochachild...oh my goodness your words of encouragement were so sweet!! I'm overwhelmed with happiness for you and how far you've came since we started this thread...you are such an inspiration to us all!! I am praying for all you wait listed applicants that you will be called soon.

I haven't ruled anything out at this point...I've had some time to think this over and start looking towards the future and sure God has the best plan for me!

@libra1018...I'm with you--I'm still at a loss on how they handle the rankings of applicants...wish I understood it a little better!

@Dyella...how is the 3 hr commute going for clinicals? Do you stay the weekend there and then drive back? Great to hear all is going so well for you and I know the time is flying by!
  2. @ Judy
Do not be nervous ALL have managed before us. You will get a list of books to purchase and there will be an EVOLVE for each course that is what I used to study and the lecture notes they also have a FUNDAMENTALS success book that is real helpful.

    @ tejas 03
The commute is time consuming but the clinicals in EAST TEXAS is well worth it. I enjoy GSMC very much. Clinical instructors really want you to succeed. There are a total of 11 that commute to longview we room and carpool out there so expenses are split.
  3. Tejas I know you will get in some nursing program. Keep the Faith!!!

  4. I been out here for awhile and I wish I knew how competitive it is to get into the program. My gpa is only a 3.5 in science and a 3.3 all around. But I too must keep the faith and pray that all is well and if it is not meant for me than eventually I will know soon.

Im sure you have already heard this, but you should really think about retaking your sciences (especially at UTA) to get your science GPA up. I know it's stressful and time consuming, but you want to be competitive...and you want your letter to read ACCEPTED....

    Just food for thought...
  6. Okay, so I have some info for my wait listed brethren - the wait list presumably works like this...

Lets say there are 20 spots...15 spots are new admits and 5 spots are held for current semester students that may need to repeat the first semester due to their grades. There are only so many clinical spots available. Apparently, there are only enough wait listed to fill those spots, so if everyone does well - then all the wait listed get in...if not, the vacancies are filled based on the rankings. So a few may get called that are wait listed. Also, they were supposedly pulling grades prior to them being posted (grades are due Dec 16th ish - so we should know in a couple of weeks.

So we will keep our fingers crossed!
  7. Eldraper7,
I would really consider getting partnered trust me, that will also help!
But keep the FAITH. What God has for you no man can take away.
  8. @BJBAILEY1972, that's interested about the waitlist. Did you hear that from an advisor?

    Fingers crossed indeed....

YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW EXCITED I AM TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE FROM GSMC!!! I live in Longview and have friends who work at GSMC and for some reason you are the first person who I've found who actually knows about the program. I was accepted for Spring 2012 and I have so many questions. Hopefully, you can answer a few for me. What days were your clinicals for Jr. I? Do you work? What has been the most challenging part of the program thus far? Is everyone in your class seem to be doing okay or are there a few or many who are struggling with the coarse load? Please, if you have any helpful information, include it. One other thing, could you guys make a facebook page or something sharing your experience that includes pictures. lol!! Aren't you guys the first class of GSMC?
  10. Thanks Judyduckett, I really appreciate your response and I am trying but you are definitely right if it is God's will he will open the door for me to get a job. I just have to keep the faith and let patience do its work in me.
