Violach, maybe we should be study partners. I didn't do as well as you. I think I over analyzed a few of the first questions and then felt rushed to finish.
Now I have to switch gears and start preparing for our Pharm test. There is just sooo much info to cover on one test.

I am trying to get all my other stuff done by tomorrow so i can concentrate on pharm for a few days. i am lost in that class. I'm beginning to think pharm and patho should have been taken separately. Patho isn't requiring near as much time as pharm; 10 chapters in 2 weeks is pretty intense.

I'm sorry. It is difficult material for me... I just usually put in about 3-4 hours of studying a day. But I am sooooo behind this week bc my entire family has been sick with the flu. I haven't even started my patho reading yet. Dropping my kids off at my mother's house today so I can wrap up my Intro assignments and I start working on Patho! I definitely could not do Pharm and Patho at the same time. I have kind of weird way of studying, but I'm a visual learner, so it works for me. I color code everything on the RRD's. All words I need to know, I highlight blue. Their definitions, yellow. Concepts, orange. Examples - pink, etc. Then, when I'm looking for a particular definition - I scan and look for a blue word. I also make my own outline based off the RRD's with more simplified words/sentences and I write down the page numbers throughout my simplified outline so I can find it easily in the RRD's. I just go over it over and over again until I get it. I know my method might not work for some, but making everything more visual jogs my memory. And I watch the podcasts and take additional notes. :P

Has anyone already finished up Intro? How is the final? Is it the same as a quiz?

I finished up today. I took the final on Tuesday and it wasn't bad.

I need to go buy some more highlighters. Your method would definitely mainstream things, since I think I'm highlighting half the page sometimes.

Can anyone please let me know what books I need for technical writing? I am taking it online in 10 days! Also... Do we need that writer reference ? Just need to order as soon as possible! Thanks BTW... Final in intro was pretty easy!

When I took it, I needed some tech comm book (can't remember the name) and A Writer's Reference by Diana Hacker. The school bookstore should tell you (then you can order it on Amazon a lot cheaper.) A Writer's Reference actually comes in handy; I have used it for other classes, as well.

Yes, that Intro final was easy. Glad that class if over so I can just focus on Patho now!

joshsmother...I bought the technical writing book and decided I am not taking it until the very last class before nursing school as I am working toward getting into a different nursing school other than UTA which doesn't require the class. Are we allowed to offer our books to other students here, or is that breaking the rules? If so, I live in the Flower Mound area depending on where you live...or I could always mail it.

Also, when you register for the class, it has a section online that you can go to the UTA online book store and see what you need. I don't remember seeing that we needed a writers reference book because I bought the required book.

You can offer books to fellow students. I don't see why it would be a violation of any sort. I have borrowed my books out on numerous occasions. If you can find someone to exchange books with, it's a great way to save money.

Was wondering - does the CON send out acceptance/rejection letters via snail mail or email?
