- Jul 26, '12 by Nightnurse2002My advisor just emailed me back there was a rule in effect of no more than one nursing class but apparently a week ago this rule was squashed as long as the student is aware of the amount of hours required to do the work...just another way UtA messed up I could have gotten more done than I have and the only way I found out was because you guys had taken two classes and I am pretty certain I would never have know other wise smh.. As it is I am already registered thru to december so I will leave it for now...smh so doggone frustrating too far in to pull out now
- Jul 26, '12 by Nightnurse2002Has anyone taken Math 1308-800 yet? If so can anyone offer any pointers or tips I start in two weeks and like to know what i am in store for...Thanks
- Jul 26, '12 by registeredin06Clarification in regard to the 2 nursing courses at once....they are highly discouraging it. In early July, my advisor told me that beginning with the July 2 starters, the students were only aloud 1 nursing course at a time. Recently I was reviewing the course map and read at the bottom, only 2 nursing courses aloud at a time. When I brought this to her attn, she said that it is aloud, but that it is discouraged.
- Jul 27, '12 by vle4I started the nursing courses in January and have been taking 2 nursing courses at a time. I also remember in the course map it just said that no more 2 were allowed to be taken at a time. I don't remember hearing the academic advisor tell me I could only take one at a time.
- Aug 1, '12 by mercurytxNightnurse2002, That stats class is tough! I took it in the Spring and failed it by two or so points, even though I watched the videos and worked some of the problems- not all, I didn't do as much as I could. At the time, 15% of the grade was quizzes, so my near passing grade had a lot to do with the 100% I would get on those. I basically bombed most of the tests.
Second time around, I vowed to get a tutor, but I didn't. My heart fell when I learned they eliminated the quizzes, so the grade is solely based on 3 tests and a final- the final making 40% of the grade. The familiarity I had with the material helped the second time around. I haven't gotten the official grade, but I passed this time. Yet, it was really rough and if I would have failed it again, I would have just taken it at the local junior college this time because the format is not so great for a weak math learner. - Aug 1, '12 by mercurytxNightnurse2002, That stats class is tough! If you are a strong math person then hopefully it will be a slight bit better hopefully I have been trying to get a copy of the syllabus to try and get an understanding of the assignment percentage and to get started on the assignments but no luck
- Aug 1, '12 by mercurytxHi all, I have just 3 classes left- Research, Leadership/Management and Capstone. I know how Research is, but I don't know much of anything about Leadership/Management. For those of you who have taken Management, can I take it with Research? I want to apply for graduation and be done before the end of the year. Thanks.
- Aug 1, '12 by kcdunlapResearch is a nightmare because the entire thing is a group project and that can go either way depending on the group you have. On the other had I felt that Leadership/Management was a lot of busy work. Not super hard but a pain to complete. The lectures weren't always the best. One lecture in particular is on the Financial aspect of FTEs etc. the lecture is awful. I understood it and after our AC never responded to questions I ended up walking the class through the steps....Our AC was the worst I had for this class which made it that much more difficult. In the end I got a 97%.
I took research with Vulnerable populations and I thought that combo must be the worst and I survived. So, Research an another class is doable if you focus.
