Hello to all who be starting the RN-BSN program at UTA on August 13!

Started this thread so we can help each other out as questions arise during the course.

I will be working full-time and have a 21 month old at home. He is very easy going :) Hubby is very loving and supportive as well. Good luck to everyone!! :nurse:

For week 5 assignment, I have a question. Please do not think I am dumb, but when she says to apply APA style, will you girls cite any references. I wasn't planning on it. Thanks for feedback! Working the next 2 nights, so no rush!

No references needed. I just double spaced, did not use contractions, etc...

ScarletFire, POLS 2311 is a cakewalk. I took it in the Spring (no papers, no projects) just a test on every chapter and 2 discussion questions at the end. I finished it in 5 weeks. Talk later...

No, I don't think you are dumb, Rosemary. I didn't have any references to use, so I think she just means 12 point font, Times New Roman, double-spaced, and first line indented. Of course, if you do use something that is not your original idea, then you would reference.

Sweet.

Amyrnfa and ScarletFire you girls are brave taking 2 courses at a time. I am still going with one. Nervous about my time management! Congrats to you both.

Not brave, just want to get this done. BTW, you could do it, too.

You are probably right. I still need to take Texas Gov't, History I, and a literature class. Not sure which literature class to take? Any suggestions? Also anyone taken History I or Texas Gov't.

We are having to do mandatory overtime!

Hello All,

New to AllNurses so bare with me. This is my last week in technical writing, and thank god its over! The class was not hard, simply time consuming and the writing topics were a bit boring. I'm also taking Texas Politics, and boy that class is something else! Its mainly based on exam grades, and those exams are not EASY! The teacher also makes massive mistakes on the exams, so I have to usually email him with the question and passage where the information is found to get the lost points, a bit of a nuisance. The projects are alright, nothing to write home about. I'm not a huge political buff, so the reading is like a tranquilizer to be honest with you.

I'm signing up for Prof A&B--Sept 24 to Dec 9th. Ive read the class description, but still have no clue what this class is about. Do you they give you information to read & quizzes, or is it more topic & research paper based? I have never used Epic either, how is that?

Sorry for all the questions. I hope you all can help me a bit.

Good luck to us all on our BSN endeavor.

I am taking Texas gov now and I will help you with it when you get around to taking it. Let me know and we can talk off line. don't worry about that one; it's not bad. I don't have to Hist I or Literature, but I think Amy did, or someone else on this forum.

Mandatory OT? Wow. That is bad. How much do you have to do?

Thanks ScarletFire, We are just having to pull two extra shifts per six week schedule right now. Not too bad. Two out on maternity leave. 4 call shifts per 6 weeks. I WILL let you know when I take Texas Gov't. Still no grade on week 4!

Later!

amyrnfa,

Did you have to take History I at UTA or a literature class. If so, what were they like and which literature class would be best!?

Hope things are going well for you!

I still need Hist, Stats, and a Lit. Don't know which to take yet, maybe American Lit. I took British Lit in high school and really enjoyed Chaucer, Shakespeare, and the other writers. I wonder if it would be OK at UTA. Taking Stat in January, but after that I will probably take a gen ed & nursing class together from here on out. Taking 2 of the 5 week classes together was not ideal for my schedule. It felt too crammed and I am in no hurry right now. Got N3425 next which is pretty packed with info. Let me know if you need help with other classes that I have taken. Later..
