Anyone starting Nurs 3425 (Holistic Health Assessment) at UTA RN-BSN on Sept 24th?

I did include one Meriwhen, thanks for the advice. Any other little tidbits of information you feel might come in handy?

Make sure you cover everything listed in the assignment and in the rubric, even if you feel you are being repetitive. That should keep you out of grade trouble.

Hey Rosi. I must have done something right, because she already gave me 100% in the subjective assignment. I'll see how I fear on the Obj one. Let me know if you need help. I'll PM you.

For this class don't forget to put bilateral or left and right. Just a quick tip. I had to learn the hard way. This class is very, very detailed.

jadiva, good for you! I got 5 points deducted off my COLDSPA (apparently I was not specific enough on Associated factors/affects the client portion), but I will take the A. I also took the 2nd test, it focuses on the assessment for normal/abnormal findings the whole exam. Actually changed one answer at the end and got a 100%. BTW, after reading the discussion board postings, there might be some ticked off students. Only 10 out of 30 in my group posted a peer-review article on the DB. I think it is worth 50 points! Hopefully they will grade the Obj assignment today so we can see how to proceed.

I did not know we had to post a peer review article in the DB....hmmmmm.

jadiva,

My coach sent an email last Sunday to make sure we included one in our post. I think it is in the rubric also. Check out your grades section to look at the rubrics posted there. This week you need to include 2 references, one from your diagnosis book and a peer review article from a journal. Don't worry, their not worth major points (like the assignments & quizzes).

Well, I got my 50%....lol. Can't do nothing about it. Just gotta make sure I give them what they want next time. Amy, how was test 2?. I'm thinking of doing it tonight too.

For assignment 2, do we have to do a coldspa for each current issue?

I think you have to have one for each subjective assignment, but not each system in the assignment. Put it under current or past history if you can. Just make sure you have 1. That is all I am doing.

I take that post back. One for each current complaint. Put under current history in subjective assignment. But you just need one, unless you have a client with multiple complaints in every system or area you assess.

Jadiva, Amy is right, just one COLDSPA for each complaint. But if your patient has a multitude of complaints you're in for a long couple of days. I still have not gotten any grades back for my first two data collection assignments. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

commonsense,

I did pretty good. Better than I expected. Got 5 point docked on objective assignment for not putting my client's B/P with mmHg behind it! That was not in the grading rubric. Is there anything but a mercury measurement to get a B/P? A-line maybe? Good grief...
