Capstone

Unless you are really pressed for time and have to complete the program ASAP, why not take the government course first, then the Capstone? Why torment yourself when you don't have to...

Thank you for the suggestion! Unfortunately that's not really an option for me ... I tried to spread the two out but due to the university's rules and timing of available classes I have to take the two together in order to finish in time to graduate this May... I'm ready to be done with school and get on with my life so going beyond May is not an option for me... I'm just trying to get a feel for what to expect...

Can anybody explain what the capstone course includes. I've tried to find out about it but I'm not looking in the right place because I have no idea what the class is about. If anybody has any hints I'd love to hear.

Hi everyone!
In a few weeks I start my last nursing class of the UTA online RN-BSN AP program. Has anyone taken the Capstone course? I am nervous because I am having to take it with TX Govt at the same time and I am hoping it will be feasible while working full time. Any feedback is appreciated.. I am really nervous about having to double up on the capstone course.

You will be fine. I;m in the capstone program now. it is just a continuation of courses such as nursing research.

I'm in the capstone seminar now. It is basically a continuation of classes such as nursing research. you will do a powerpoint presentation (on your own -- not a group project) but will post weekly with your classmates. it is similar to other nursing courses online where each week you develop a little more of your project. You can do a presentation on educating RNs or patients to do any number of things and then come up with ways to evaluate that such as post tests, etc. hope that helps somewhat. good luck.

Can you take Capstone with a General Ed class? When i first receive my course map for the program, it said: All nursing courses and general ed classes must be taken before Capstone and Capstone must be the last course taken. I was hoping to take it together with Govt since the dates will overlap each other so that i can finish the program by the end of fall 2012.

Definitely you can take a gen ed class with your capstone. i am and almost done. many people do. Good luck. just organize your time.

We had better be...they messed up my course map and I didn't find out until a few weeks ago I was missing a Gen. Ed. So I'm taking it this summer the same time as Capstone.

You can take the Capstone with another general course according to my course map. You cannot take it with another nursing course including the nursing elective as it has to be the last nursing course you take. I am so glad I found this site now that I am starting my first course. It has saved me a lot of heartache :-}
