Academic partnership requirement at UTA

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

I live in the state of Maryland and i've applied to the UTA's RN to BSN online. Are out of state students admitted to the program? What does academic partnership means? Will I ned to be an employee at a participating hospital to be admitted into the online program?

Students from out of state are admitted. Some of my classmates are from many states all over. You do not have to be partnered with any participating hospitals. I think that is for the on campus bsn program

I just received my BSN from UTA. I found this accelerated program to be excellent. It required discipline, lots of reading and paper writing, and you need to keep track of which class to take next and buy your textbook on time. I did not work at a participating hospital. I completed my degree in 17 months.

Good Luck and Go Mavericks!

No clinical but you need to have some sort of Nursing Job to complete a class called Cooperative Nursing Work Experience. I work in home care which made some of the assignments very difficult to complete....but I did....

I just finished the program in 10 months and found it work well most of the time.

Ok great to here. Thanks for clarifying guys!!

I am interested in UTA RN-BSN online program, too. I saw some posts that students need clinical to finish nursing assignments.

I am a fresh RN, do NOT have a job. Does that mean I can't apply to this online program because I couldn't get any clinical to finish the homework or course requirements?

I contacted nursing program, but no response. Anyone could give me some ideas? Thanks a lot!

Hi GinaDecorRN,

Congrats!

Would you give me some ideas about the clinical requirements to finish this program? I am a fresh RN, do not have a job.

The "clinical requirement" is a class called "Cooperative Work Experience". So, you could put off taking it until you get a job but there are assignments that are apart of one or two classes that have assignments related to your work experience. I thought it was very unfair as the course description never said anything about having a job.

Even if you got a part time job that would work for the job assignments.

Kcdunlap, thanks a lot!
