how do SA and UK qualifications compare?

Hi, I am a South African Registered Nurse with Operating Room qualification and experience. Would like to go work in Scotland for period, but confused by all the different abbreviations and qualifications used. Any one able to help me? I did a four year nursing diploma in general nursing, community nursing, psychiatric nursing and midwifery, with a post basic diploma in operating room technique. To what would this equate in UK?All help and advice appreciated.
