NMC overseas nurses and midwives

Oh thank you! I should have been more specific, I know that the process as a whole takes much longer (at least 6 months), but I am wondering how long I would be in the UK without work due to meeting the requirements. I know that much of the application process can be done from home, however, once I am in the UK could I expect to be there about one month before having completed my ONP and be eligible for hire?

You will not get your PIN until you have completed the ONP and will more than likely find it hard to get work as RN. Getting PIN can take time, never known NMC to be quick. I would work on 1-2 months ensuring you have sufficient funds and if it comes through quicker that will be a bonus. Also remember in the UK pay tends to be monthly so will need sufficient funds to tide you over also

Hi I have just signed up with this agency after my mum pointed me in their direction. She recently worked with someone at home (Aus) who had done some assignments here (UK) with them & recommended them.
I start my assignment on Monday, we have fully furnished accommodation in a very beautiful city. It's a 13 week contract, with travel ££ added to my first pay packet (event hough I can walk to work in 6 mins!!! Nice change from my 45 minute drive at the moment) then at the end fo the 13 weeks you get 45 hours holiday pay.
They are VERY helpful with all paperwork and you deal with 1 person through most of the process.
I am an unusual case for them as I have lived here for 7 years and my husband and 2 yr old are with me, so this made house hunting hard work for them but it is all sorted.
I definitely say give them a call
I shall update you in the next few weeks.

Hi all. Well it's been a few weeks now and I am really enjoying my ward. Travel nurse pay me fortnightly and I can get hold of them very easily and they are quick to get back to me if I call them. I am working with 3 other women who are signed up with them, 2 from New Zealand and a Japanese girl. None of us have anything but positive comments about travel nurse. GREAT way to see UK!
Sue unfortunately I haven't psoted enough to PM yet.

Carluke,
Did you end up using Continental Travel Nurse? I'm looking to move to the UK from the US and have been in contact with this agency. Any insight you could give would be great.
