WHERE DO YOU STAY??

I am a newbie!!! :yeah: I have an assignment starting very soon in CA and I am considering options for housing, I can take the stipend (~1675) , use company housing, pay for an extended stay (~ 1300) or rent a room and have access to rest of house from my cousin's friend (not sure of this option bc would rather have my own space but a good cash saver @ ~ $500/month) i?

So, my question is what do you usually do especially with short notice? Plus I have enough contract negotiations to worry about and would rather not be in a housing contract as well!! :uhoh3:

Thanks!!

I like Candlewood suites cheap so more money in my pocket. I'd just do the math and see how much money you make.

Hi!! Good luck in your assignment. You ll love Cali!! First: I look around the hospital area on craiglist for a sublet apartment, furnished, w/ utilities, short term, and whatever your requirements may be.

Now and days the only way to make money traveling is actually taking the stipend and doing your homework. The amount you mentioned seems too low for Cali. They gave me 2200 for LA area, and that's because I ask them for more. But it all depends in your hourly rate. Renting a room seems to be a good idea, you ll be saving a lot. I hate extended stays, I Had bad experiences with those.

Good luck again!!! Enjoy Cali!!!

I think u better try anything other than extended stay cuz the rooms will def make u feel suffocated. One bedroom will give I more leg room. If this ur first assignment I suggest u don't be too focus on how much u save on housing as this could cost u. Being familiar with the area makes some decisions like this easier.

It turned out to be 1700 for the Sacramento area... but I turned down the assignment because the NM wouldn't take 5 minutes out to answer my questions before hiring me
