What do you NOT like about travel nursing?

Lack of stability.
On your own a lot.
Makes resume look odd.

Packing and unpacking...actually, that is not so bad. The part I dread is the loading and unloading of the car.
I also hate the helpless feeling I get when I know I should be able to find whatever it is I 'm looking for, and common sense tells me it should be here in this spot, next to the doo-ma-flotchies....and time is slipping away while I'm stuck staring at a wall full of various thingy-ma-bobs. Then someone comes along, senses my frustration, and says ...oh, we keep it here (right here next to my nose).
While I'm at it....pre-assigned computer access codes. oh my. How many numbers is my poor brain supposed to remember! I find myself typing in access codes and/or passwords from the last assignment, or from 2 years ago...
And seriously, if that is all there is that I don't like, then cheers!

I agree with not liking the packing/unpacking, loading and unloading. I am in that process of that right now. Also trying to pack up the house so I can put it up forsale this fall. Now if I can find just the right RV.

Being treated like I am some lower form of existance from some staff.
Having to prove myself usually amounts to having to take on 3 times the amount of work given to staff.
Always hearing "you make the big bucks."
Missing my husband's birthday (today) because I could not get enough time off to visit-time off requests are usually reserved for staff.
Having to work all the holidays, unless I am in between contracts.
Being expected to be a mind reader.
Expected to "hit the ground running"-pseudonym for 'you aren't going to get an orientation and you are expected to be a mind reader"
Trying to remember names because of always being asked "who told you THAT...?"

I agree with packing and unpacking. Paying and processing for the other state license and adjusting to the new place. No internet for a while is a big thing for me! (I can live not to watch TV for weeks). If you travelled for a while, it shouldn't be a big deal.

Been traveling almost 12 years now and while I really don't mind the unpacking - kind of enjoy settling in - I still HATE packing up. I am fully convinced that while I am at work my belongings are breeding! I know I brought it all here in my truck, know I didn't buy anything (well, not much....)and it never wants to go back in the same place it came out of.

I love it! Now that I know my things are breeding, it all makes sense!
