Ways to get a new recruiter?

I am on my second assignment and about to extend my contract with AMN . The current issue is that I am not happy with the area I am living in, that I want to be in an area of the city that there is closer to things to do. I told my recruiter this and she said there are limited choices, and that there would be more choices if I would be willing to pay more for it. I told her that is BS and that I will be finding my own place. I am hot since I am not taking a pay raise or nothing. I am only getting my $500.00 interim travel (which I'd get the equivalent if I switched assignments and stayed with AMN).

I feel like this is the straw that broke the camels back for me with her. I really don't like working with her AT ALL. I had an awesome recruiter and then I get stuck with this chick. I hate her voice, I hate the fact she doesn't even TRY to help me even tho she is getting commission off me, and I don't think her and I click/work welll together. I want a new recruiter. I am about to renew my contract and I need some help here. Can I put I want a new recruiter in there?

Not trying to rant and rave, I just want to do something about it instead of being irritated.

I hear you. Do you have another recruiter with AMN that you know you want to go with? I don't think it's easy and also its a shot in the dark if you our have another one assigned to you. If you want my Recruiter's info with AMN, you can ask her about it, and even say you won't extend unless you can change your Recruiter. Your relationship with your Recruiter is so important!

Thanks, maybe it's just me venting, but yeah, would love their info.

I switched mine with AMN. Just call in to the main number, ask for your recruiter's supervisor's name and ask to be transferred to her phone/voicemail. I left a message that I was unhappy and considering leaving the company if my recruiter was not changed, and a couple days later the new one called me:)

You are the boss! The company only makes money when YOU do the work. Make sure they remember that and just climb up the supervisor ladder until you get the answer you want. I had the same issue with my company and it was easy as soon as I got it in my mind that you do not really work for them, they work for you because they do not make anything unless you go do the work.
