Valley Healthcare and CA housing questions

Hi everyone, I'm considering taking an assignment with Valley Healthcare. Does anyone have any information about this company? Good or bad?

I also would like some information on housing in CA. I'm thinking of going to San Jose (Santa Teresa) or Sacramento. The hospitals are Kaiser facilities. Are they safe areas? Have you stayed in the apartments nearby? Good or bad?

Any help would be appreciated. I'll be traveling with my daughter, so safety is my main concern. Thanks so much in advance.

I am currently in San Jose (second time around). I did work at Kaiser Santa Clara 4 years ago. San Jose is quite safe (it was the safest city in the US with a pop. > 1,000,000 a few years ago-I don't know if it still is...)-we have never had any issues. The complex where I live (I don't think I can name it on-line) hosts many travelers from different companies-nice, gated, etc. Other travelers housed at different complexes have not had any safety issues that I've heard, although some are noisier than others.
Best of luck........

San Jose actually has a much higher crime rate lately then it has had in the past. Would definitely look for a gated community as a start.

Me and my wife have both been traveling with Valley Healthcare for over a year now. I have done 4 travel assignments through them and my wife two. Highly recommended.

I have tried numerous other companies: Access(poor), MSN/Intellistaf(OK), American Traveler, and Emerald.

Valley is by far the best. The contracts are straight forward and easy to understand. The pay was always $3-5 more than the other companies. The housing is whatever you want( you get multiple choices or you choose your own and they set it up) The furniture rental that they use allows you not to even need silverware/tupperware. Just bring your clothes!!

As far as San Jose goes, my last travel assignment was at the VA in Palo Alto and I stayed in Santa Clara(a few min. from San Jose). Area was excellent, only left because my wife was not able to find a job in mother/baby. I do telemetry.

Hope that helps.
